adidas is killing it many categories, including basketball shoes and pretty much anything Samba-adjacent. But right now, I'd like to direct your attention to the brand's running shoes, which just revived a seriously cool 20-year-old runner. Don't call it a comeback, either...'cause it's more like a bounce back, really.

adidas introduced the world to the A3 Megaride shoe in 2004, and the adidas sneaker made quite the entrance. It's pretty hard to miss this fantastic runner rounded out with this super recognizable cutout sole infused with adidas' Bounce material (it reminds me of On's now-fashionable Cloudmonster shoes in a way).

As it pumps up the Megaride shoe, adidas' Bounce sole is more than just a clever name. The adidas technology offers a nice, cushy spring forward as you take off for a routine run (or even a quick jog down to the corner store before it closes). Bounce is still used in several adidas performance models to this very day, but no other model wears it quite like the Megaride.

The early 2000s runner naturally returns in genuine Y2K realness, boasting a buttery and meshy build coated in shiny silver and gold. adidas even brings back the model's A3 branding on the tongue — also realized in gilded glory — while the nostalgic Three-Stripes receives a dose of vintage-looking metallics.

Earlier this year, the internet was abuzz with whispers of the Megaride's return, hyping longtime adidas fans up for the bouncy shoe's comeback.

There's no hard launch date for the shoes (yet), but the Megaride has recently landed on a retailer's release calendar as a soon-come drop.

Hear that? It sounds like the adidas Megaride sneaker will be bouncing back into our lives sooner than we thought.
