What was the inspiration for your shoe ?
Peter: Our inspiration comes from the 4th century when the Vikings raised runestones all over Mälardalen in Sweden. Stockholm is located in Mälardalen and we’ve seen them since we were kids. One of the purposes of raising a runestone was to mark your territory, honour your family and to win power and glory.

Which part are you most proud of and why ?
Johan: We’re really happy that we could put the rune letters in the Asics stripe.

Why did you choose these colours and materials ?
Johan: All the colours are taken from the original runestones. Regarding the material, we wanted a material that looked like a stone.

Last thursday Yue aka Nyno and Sophie from Paris came over to Berlin to decorate the Window of Wood Wood store.
It was to celebrate the release of Wood Wood x Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber shoes.

10m roll of paper on the floor to draw with the traditional calligraphy ink brush technique both front and back side, playing music loud to get inspired and improvise by the feeling we had that moment!!
Some are mirror ball, some are our favorite food, some are word play with Wood Wood name and logo, some are homage to the vintage Onitsuka Tiger Advertisement from the year when X-Caliber shoe was originally introduced in ‘82.
