New to our Dealers in Gold list is The Pines in Greensboro, NC. Their shop is a beautiful boutique / gallery constructed out of 500 sq feet of North Carolina state tree (the pine tree). We are really happy to be partnering with them to bring the Benny Gold brand to a part of the country that has yet to see it.

Their store buildout is amazingly simple yet sophisticated. We strive for the same aesthetic with our own store and product. Please stop by The Pines: 241 e. Mkt. St. Greensboro, NC and show them some love. They are definitely doing things right!

The BG Brand is growing and we are getting out there. We couldn’t have done it without the support of the customers and the stores – thank you!

The Mission Map Release Party

Come down to 111 Minna this Saturday to help celebrate the unveiling of The Mission Map. It’s a one of a kind hand drawn map of the Mission by Mike Giant. The map highlights and promotes local businesses like ours – Benny gold, Four Barrel Coffee, Self Edge, PPC, Anthony Cookies and many more that make this neighborhood great.

Georgia Rew of the Pretty Pretty Collective, Mike Giant (artist) of Rebel 8 and Benny Gold plus other Mission business owners will be discussing the value of promoting our community and small business through the map and Agency Charlie will be there to present 10-15 short films made about local businesses .

Here are a few examples of the short films – see you there to get a locals perspective on our neighborhood!

Cut & Sew Production

These past few weeks I have been running around trying to get our new cut&sew produced on time. It’s a lot of work – so much goes into every shirt and they are hand made right here in San Francisco.

You can keep up with the entire process of running your own brand and the daily insanity of getting things produced on our Instagram and Twitter accounts.

It all starts with an idea and a sell sheet that goes out to all the official Dealers in Gold.

Production numbers get counted and fabric is ordered. This is what it looks like getting cut into our custom shirt patterns.

All the pieces that make a shirt are organized and ready for sewing.

See you on the other side..

Don’t forget the trims. Nothing generic here.

Ambition

Our paper plane icon has grown to mean different things to a lot of people. It has been immortalized in peoples skin as a constant reminder to what it means to them. This tattoo comes from Joe in Miami. The asian characters translates into ambition and he uses it as a reminder to keep pushing forward – stay gold!

New Family Brands In-Store

In our SF flagship store we carry a few select brands that I have worked with outside of the Benny Gold brand. Everything in the store is here for a reason and has a story behind it. Ask the sales guys – they will be more then happy to tell you about it.

The first is the most obvious.. Huf. I got my start within street wear and learned the game from them. I designed their original logo close to 10 years ago. A little known fact about the Benny Gold brand is that it started under Huf and the first few seasons were distributed exclusively through them.

Come by our shop and check out a new assortment from them. I am proud to see how much they have grown and where they are going. Support Huf!

Not too long after I started handling my own distro and opened up select stores I started selling to a great store in Arizona called High Point. A few of the guys involved in the store were starting their own brand called Dearly Departed. They asked me to design a logo for them and I came up with this DD candle lockup and custom type. Honor the Dearly Departed!
