This is the week that the new line hits the stores (finally)! I can’t even begin to tell you how stoked pictures like this are to me! It’s awesome to see everything lined up and heading out to the shops. The clothing line has grown with more shirts being offered (It started with 1 shirt in 1 shop not too long ago), larger distribution into select stores and the expansion into accessories. There is more to come and I appreciate you all being a part of it!

Please let the stores know that you are glad they support independent brands like Benny Gold. Continue to contact me letting me know what you want to see, any advise you might need to start something similar or just to say what’s up. I try to answer all the emails. Let’s do this and continue to build together!

It’s true the Doughboys are back in 3 new colorways with an updated liner print. This Saturday, the 31st, Hall of Fame will be the 1st place to release them! The hats are in such high demand that we had unfortunately short the stores. Get there early to make sure you don’t miss out on them, like most people did the 1st release over a year ago.

The online store is temporarily closed for restocking. That means that the new F/W09 season is hitting really really soon. You can also expect a few surprises and site exclusives when it reopens.

Last night I was watching some TV and I flipped the channel to MTV Cribs. They were running a feature on Sean Kingston. I was shocked to see him wearing a New Era cap that I designed as part of Vaults Summer in the CIty collection. I love seeing how things get around. Sean get at me for some gear!

Every season I forget how much work it takes to get the line out and into the shops. I keep expecting it to go smooth and I schedule client design projects due at the same time. Every season I am late on my design responsibilities… but it’s all worth it! I am really excited about this season. The past few weeks I have been press checking, sorting new era capsand packing boxes.

This is what putting a signature line out is all about. It’s knowing that the person behind it put time, love and sweat into every piece. Look for the new stuff to hit the shops early next week!

The new line is hitting the stores soon and I have been getting tons of emails asking where it will be available. Check the newly updated dealer list to find a retailer close to you. I am humbled by all the store support that I have received with the line. It’s crazy to think that less then 3 years ago I started with just one store account. Thank you all for making it happen. We are just getting started!

The last couple weeks have been busy to say the least. It’s always like this right before a new season drops. My days have been spent packing boxes and press checking shirts. Here is a sneak peak at half of the t-shirt offering for the new drop. I’ll post more as the rest comes in. I am looking forward to getting this stuff out to the stores!

First a Benny Gold shirt showed up in a Rick Ross video. Now Tiron’s new video “Throwing My Money” just dropped with him sporting a Benny Gold shirt also. Good looking out! You can always throw your money and get yourself a BG shirt in our online shop. TiRon get at me if you ever want any more stuff! I appreciate the support in your vid!

I recently was invited to speak at the Savannah College of Art and Design to a room full of students. It has been awhile since I have been to Savannah. The last time I was there I was a student at the college studying design.Being back not as a student was great. It was an interesting experience to be on the other side of the classroom.

I was nervous before the talk, but as the room started to fill up with students I started to feel more comfortable. I was exactly where they were not so long ago. I decided to just talk about how I got to where I am now from where they are (it’s what I would have wanted to hear when I was graduating). Thank you to everyone that showed up to hear what I had to say! The Q&A was great and I gave out some t-shirts and stickers.

After the lecture the school set up a series of video interviews and photo shoots with me for their promotional material. The lights were very hot and bright, but I did my best to give the students an understanding of what it’s like after graduating. It took me awhile to get my first design job out of school. If it doesn’t work at first don’t give up. Hard work pays off in the end.

After my obligations to the college were done. I rented a car and headed to Atlanta to visitStandard. They are a great shop that stocks the Benny Gold line. While I was there Bun B, of UGK stopped by to say what’s up. Definitely a nice way to end the trip.

Finally got the artwork sized and ready for the printers for FW09 shirts. My office is full of hats and accessories right now. As soon as the shirts are in FW09 goes out to the shops. Thank you to all the shops that placed orders and to the customers that keep asking when it’s all going to drop. It’s coming soon - our biggest season yet!
