Today The Hundreds Tribute to Hardcore shirt series dropped at both of their SF and LA stores. They were nice enough to send me a box of the one that I designed. I want to give them away to the people that really wanted them but were unable to get to The Hundreds stores.

Feel free to use google or any other way to get the answers. This shirt and quiz are meant to be an introduction to something that I am passionate about. Hopefully you will find the music genre as exciting as I do. If not - no bid deal. It still was a fun project to be a part of.

Skateboarding and punk rock has been played a huge part of my life. Having a brand is a great medium to express yourself and hopefully get people excited about the stuff that you find really inspiring. This is my collaboration shirt with The Hundreds for their Tribute To Hardcore series. The shirt will be releasing at both The Hundreds San Francisco and Los Angeles stores on Thursday May 28th. The graphic is based on few things that really stuck out to me growing up: The rawness of a concert flyer and the bands like Gorilla Biscuitsand Bold that adorned them.

I got a call from Johnny Cupcakes yesterday asking if I wanted to meet up with him. Johnny was in town for a lecture at a local high school. I think it’s great that he travels around and inspires people by telling his story. I was inspired hearing it during lunch and he gave me a lot of really solid advice about my brand and what I am working on. 

After lunch we headed over to the Rebel8 headquarters to catch up with them. I gave Johnny a preview of a project I am working on with them. Overall the day was very inspirational for me and I have a lot to digest. Thanks for taking the time out of your trip to spend the day with me. See you in Boston soon!

I try to keep my brand close to my friends as much as possible. Lucky Lefty’s in Sacramento California stocks Mash, DQM, In4mation and Leilow. All these brands are close family and friends, so when Lucky Lefty’s hit me up about carrying the brand I was excited. Stop by to let them know you are also.

Kingdom holds me down straight up. They are a great store in Stockton California owned and run by really nice people. They just got my new line in and made this great window display for the release. WOW!

Before the Hundreds 1 year anniversary party Ben and Bobby stopped by my house to talk about upcoming projects and just catch up. I think they were more interested in my dog Levi then anything else. I can’t blame them thou. Levi rules and learned how to off leash walk this week. I am a proud parent. Check out some pics from our afternoon together on The Hundreds Site. For awhile now I have been obsessing about motorcycles. Max Schaafs 4Q blog is a daily check for me and I dream about building a bike. I am not sure i trust myself on a motorized bike due to the fact that I am a bit of a daredevil. It comes from being a skateboarder. I take risk and bomb hills as fast as I can. That type of mentality infused with a motorcycle can be sketchy. Until I make the decision to build one the closest I am getting to a bike is a feature in Japanese motorcycle magazine Hot Bike. Thanks to Ken Nagahara for taking the time to interview me and shoot the and pics.

New addition the the stockist Arizona’s own High Point. These guys are legit and doing things the right way. Good people and I am proud to be carried in their shop. Thanks again for hooking Steve Breaston of the Arizona Cardinals up with a doughboy.

I am pleased to have a few logos featured in the design book Los Logos. It’s always an honor to have your work showcased in publications like this. I collect logo books and turn to them for inspiration regularly. Hopefully one of my logos will inspire someone like the ones that have inspired me. All the support I received in 08 has been phenomenal! This year started off just as good with an e-mail from Santogolds DJ Contra. He sent a pic of him wearing a BG shirt backstage a Santogold Jay-Z show. Good looking out! I am getting a box of new stuff together for you! Yo, Santo and Contra… I am a fan!
