NEW YORK january 2012 (first day – wednesday)

03 February 2012, 17.59 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

NEW YORK CITY.
NIKE.
NIKE+ FUEL BAND International Launch.

I dont usually like this american city but this time it was not that bad! Food was better because most of the time I did cook for myself and Ive taken time to chill in the BIG APPLE…

Here comes the very first day in pictures late arriving just the time to say hello to the new french team of MAN, long time friends Romain Bernardie James and Antoine Floch…

Then a cool dinner with longtime workmates and Nike influencers such as FRASER nike, ERROLSON acronym, GRACE director, BIANCA Bln, JESSICA, CARRIE, SIMON pig, HERON P…

Ive just watched the CREATIVE CONTROL video about UNKNWN… Really interesting. I know Chris and Samantha x FRUITION since a while, weve even done a fashion shoot together back in the days for BKRW with my friend Albrecht GERLACH…

Its funny because of the location itself of the shop : I mean back in the days a street culture shop was supposed to be located in a nowhere place. Hard to find. Hard to get.
Now UNKNWN is in a fukin department store !!! And its gonna be “a modern educational platform”…

Its exactly the same concept we’ve created 5 years ago BLACKRAINBOW in one of the biggest european streetwear/lifestyle department store called CITADIUM.

Im glad to hear that philosophy again
Im glad that finally hypocrysis about hype is now falling apart
Its time that people who are not from streetculture meet the clothes, the music, the sneakers and the culture itself…
Because at the end of the day sharing is the key (even if thats sound more than cheezy!)

And now can we talk about #influencers again?
Ha!

THROW UP (part3) featuring JONONE

26 November 2011, 15.08 | Posted in BKRW, BLACKRAINBOW PARIS | No comments »

Yesterday was finally the J-DAY. JONONE day at BLACKRAINBOW Paris. The american artist was there to show his very new and exclusive work made for BKRW. 7 exclusive canvas, 5 carpets and the vinyl sculptures… The idea was to develop JONONE Flop and art signature on several different mediums.

We spent the afternoon all together before the show. And have fun while he was signing his 30 ARTOYZ ORIGINALS objects. A great day!

More pictures of the night and the set-up HERE.

hard work

23 December 2010, 13.44 | Posted in BKRW, Uncategorized | No comments »

end of the year.

hard work.

team work.

more than usual.

many things.

too many things actually coming up.

dont even know where to start.

xxxx

we’ve been produced lots of interesting video contents those days some by our own.

- ERIK PARKER studio interview

Erik PARKER is an amazing pop-artist. He is not really famous now. But be sure he gonna be soon. And he is also a great guy. I like the time he spent with us, open his studio and talking about his work. MERCI!

xxxx

Or with our friends of OFIVETV :

- PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH video interview

PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH At BLACKRAINBOW from OFIVE.TV on Vimeo.

- HUGUES LAWSON-BODY @colette video covering

HUGHES LAWSON ” DE JEUNES PARISIENS” from OFIVE.TV on Vimeo.

The work of HUGUES LAWSON-BODY on JEUNES PARISIENS is sick, he was working on it since the last 3 years. He shot probably ALL of the parisian urban tribes, not only the hiphop ones. It is a true photography of french teenagers style. A great book.

xxxx

Then we’ve been workin of the FALL/WINTER BLACKRAINBOW 4.1 Capsule Collection.

Its been a while we are producing our own clothes. Only 50 pieces max by items. Quality but not expensive.

My partner GREG is really doing a great creative job by twisting iconic clothing apparel with a street-culture or preppy twist. This collection is really small (only one tee-shirt, one shirt, one jacket, one varsity jacket) but we’ve really try to step up the quality. We’ve been dropping so many items who were not “good” enough (quality, fitting, etc…) Trying to keep only the best of them.

Anyway its already available at BLACKRAINBOW Paris or BLACKRAINBOW online shop.

Im even more excited by the 4.1 Varsity Jacket coming up in the next weeks.

triste nostalgie

Bruno Debauché. 1964 – 2010.

Certaine personne vous marque plus que d’autres. Une époque, un groupe, une culture, une envie, une énergie. Nostalgie et tristesse.

Bruno Debauché created (not alone) an incredible bunch of printed magazines. (Ride On, Blast, Beach Brother, Spray, Flavor…).

He was a french icon of board culture and sportswear industry. His tragical death is reminding me not only the funny dude I use to love to trash talk with, but also all the people Ive met during the time we met. All the people who were working with him or around him…

Past… The years where Id learn my job, as a sportswear journalist…

His death is sad. Really.

Im a big mouth but today my lips are closed for real.

No matter what…

Im proud of this club. (paris running club)

That traffic-jam was a mess. But still : great atmosphere. Nice funny crazy people. And at the end you know what : we run. No matter what : we run.

Call it hype. Call it happy few. Call it whatever you want. But each week when you are at home or still workin in your office. By -4° celsius or under the rain we run paris!

A nice video made by Yannick DO from weareblind
