the fashion week is hotter than ever in PARIS.

BKRW is trying to be everywhere tradeshow (capsule), private showroom (visvim), fashion shows… argh! the pace is hard to keep. specially after BBB…

this morning HUGUES LAWSON BODY who was following the french fashion shows for BKRW send me his first drop of streetlook shots. And he made me a big surprise because of two portraits he did. He shot KANYE WEST and KARL LAGERFELD for BKRW. KARL picture is really really good. KANYE more classical.

honestly how come I would not be happy to have such two exclusives pics only made for my digital magazine? argh! My nose bleed like TORTUE GENIAL in DRAGON BALL… Actually two of the most iconic fashion influencers…

today was a good day… can’t wait the second drop…

bonus track paparrazi like :

Merci monsieur HUGUES!

PS :  !!!!!!THIS POST WAS MY 100ST POST ON HIGHSNOBIETY!!!!!!!

you are probably not leaving on earth if you are not aware that OBM is the new president of the united states…

yesterday on bkrw website we decide to think about this election with a very particular angle : street art one. how come shepard fairey achieve to be the first official street artist to make the official portrait of the president of the united? what are gonna the consequences on the street art / street wear market and the street culture? Check this article and let me know what you think about it. It will be great to have some of your comments.

this is a real crazy shit. street culture 1.0 is dead. street culture 2.0 is dead. what is gonna be the future of street culture from the underground straight into the spotlights… what is gonna be the street culture 3.0?

think about it…

déjeuner à paris

I think that we are really lucky to work in PARIS. We probably got some of the best restaurants in the world.

Yesterday I’ve got a very nice lunch with Arnaud PAGES (undercover side of BKRW, advertising manager since the last 6 months, doing a great job).

Arnaud is probably an artist star in HK thanks to MILK and TOUCH and many more interview he did for his ECLOSION collab and exhibitions in CHINA.

Anyway we’ve been in that traditionnal french food restaurant, that TEX told me to go. The only take away restaurant where you can grab FOIE GRAS sandwich for 7 euros!

We are not frenchies if we are not eating everyday frogs and “escargot” !!! lol

And then a “small” cassoulet (traditionnal french west coast dish)…

And finally LES DESSERTS (panacotta with vanilla… for me), (creme brûlée for Arnaud)

and for sure a big nap right after all that! lol

When we were walking in the streets, we’ve bumped into FRANCOIS DURET x ADIDAS, with the latest OBYO KAZUKI KURAISHI jacket… He was just going out the new parisian ADIDAS showroom…

How come we never got that jacket in BLACK in France? argh argh sigh!

PS : bonus track

check this amazing goal from GOURCUFF (best french soccer player those last months…) playing for the best french soccer team ever : BORDEAUX… no comments

better tomorrows

Last week, my father gave me a DVD collector edition of John WOO movies A BETTER TOMORROW,

I’ve started to (re)-watch the first opus last night with Chow YUN FAT, Ti LUNG and Leslie CHEUNG (rip).  And it was kinda as good when I saw it as a teenage, more than 12 years ago… Of course, specially the intro looks a little bit cheezy and overplayed. Anyway this is a great movie. An amazing story of friendship.

And those movies (John WOO ones, and Jackie CHAN ones, or Tsui HARK ones…)… I mean HK movies, and asian movies are the links which guided me to streetculture. Most of the first streetwear generation were totally dreaming about USA, and specially NYC as a mecca to street culture : graffiti and hiphop.

But me I always prefered RED CAB (hk ones) than yellow ones, specially because of POLICE STORY probably in which I saw the first red cab in my life.

I always dreamed about Asia, and specially Hong Kong. The simple fact to be in HK streets is for me thrilling. lol…

Anyway try to watch this amazing WOO movie trilogy : A BETTER TOMORROW. A real must seen.

Bonus Track : Ho’s Theme (my fav. theme in A BETTER TOMORROW)

2day I’ve received a fresh letter from AUSTRALIA in my (real) mailbox.

My good “other hairy mate” WOODY just send me (better late than never) the last issue of SNEAKER FREAKER. #14.

SNKRFRKR is my favorite street culture oriented printed magazine. The most interesting to read, with always amazing stories. This time WOODY made a great covering about NIKE ACG history, and some great interviews of ACG designers… We’ve been invited by NIKE ACG for an amazing trip in MOAB x UTAH to meet ACG designers and learn more about the ACG story. Stay tune on BKRW for some videos and our covering.

At last but not at least, I’ve also got a nice SNKRFKR poster….

Merci WOODY!
