One year ago, 8 young, fresh, and sexy frenchies pop-up in my office with an interesting project.

They are in their own niche.
They are in their own culture.

I dont necessarily share all the aspects and all the luv they show to it, but I respect their commitment to defend it and speak about it.
Call it PREPPY, call it SAVOIR-FAIRE, call it wateva it somewhere between HYPE, FASHION, HIGHFASHION, LUXURY, and CRAFTMANSHIP…

One year ago we decide to create together www.dejeunesgensmodernes.com

We’ve tried with my partner GREG to make them grew up and help them by giving them  some advices (mistakes we’ve learned from www.bkrw.com) and a more squarrel frame.
One year later they are still up and bring a big wave of freshness into the french and international fashion/preppy industry.

The website started as a blog like, only in french.
The website is becoming now more mature and is also translated in english (more in a digital magazine way).
We’ve just brought new features on the website the past week; go and check it out.

Im happy about those kids.

I were watchin’ classic movie “singin’ in the rain” with Gene KELLY, and sudddenly I saw the extraordinary moment of “make them laugh” by Donald O’CONNOR.

For sure this sequence is not only a great dance moment but also for me the real basics move of BREAKDANCE. Check the moves starting at 2.36′ Its crazy how all his steps has been twisted since then by HIPHOP choregraphers and BREAKDANCERS.

NIKE STADIUM PARIS ask to BKRW creative agency to set up a private parisian running club.

(The same initiative leading by Charlie DARK in London or Edson x PATTA in Amsterdam or Samantha x FRUITION in USA).

To be honest with you Im more than excited ))) by this project, first of all because Im lucky enough to work with a great coach called Renaud LONGUEVRE (headcoach of famous french athletes) and also because I love sport. For me all the excuses are good to be allowed to leave the office and move my ass off! Trainings are every tuesday night here comes our first session shot by Yannick DO x WEAREBLIND

Jessica from NIKE STADIUM Paris did set up with L’ARAIGNEE a futuristic LUNAR oriented design for our PARIS RUNNING CLUB. Props to them the whole results is really sick! (and im trying to stay objective!)

Yesterday Ive been invited for some really extra-ordinary test. PEUGEOT invited me to test their whole new concept car EX1. A whole electric car who broke 8 world speed records.

We were at the MONTARGIS circuit.

The design of this car is just amazing… It looks like BATMAN new car for real. 100% green.

The most surprising part came from the sound of the car. Really high trebling. Really silenfull. More like a plane sound rather than a car one.

I love how people from PEUGEOT did take care of us. I mean we were not really allowed to have coffee on the tracks but… Fuk it! lol

Before posting my BBB SUMMER 2010 pictures recap. Ive got to share something. Ruff ideas… Its raining badly outside.

In Berlin, during the Bread&Butter Block Party, I did met many people from the industry.

But I also met some of long time players I did not see (physically) since a while : like the whole crew of THE HUNDREDS and the HYPEBEAST crew. I’ve sat a down a bit with those guyz I know since something like 4 years… Nice chat with long time “friends”.

And talking a bit more with Bobby about how fast the time was flying. Like four years ago this guyz were showing a bunch of tee in the ground of the MAGIC TRADESHOW and now they gonna probably open in NYC their fourth shop… Crazy californian boyz… Its always funny to see all the people from the industry grewing up. But THE HUNDREDS has probably the biggest and strongest business step up of anybody else.

And then since morning I went on THE HUNDREDS website and I saw that picture.

“International Sales Meeting for our Spring 2011 and Summer 2011 ranges of The Hundreds apparel, accessories, and footwear.”

WOW! 14 people around one table to listen about a SALES MEETING. This aint no jokes. This is business. Real one.

Dont take it wrong. Im not complainin’ and Im not sayin this is a bad thing.Im fukin even happy for them and for us. We are fukin luky. We are doin a pretty amazin work. A real fukin passion!

But now its really a new street order.

THE HUNDREDS, MISHKA, SUPER… HYPEBEAST, HIGHSNOBIETY, BKRW…

Some of us have really evolvin since the beginning. Passion is still there. But BUSINESS is now on. And BUSINESS is not a bad word. More money. More troubles. But also more comfort to work on interesting projects. Bigger projects. More power to lead a market and some brands too oftenly lost.

And take the media ones HYPEBEAST or HIGHSNOBIETY… Those website are really more than strong now. One post of them and a whole brand can sell more shit! A real label (for now) of “hype”…

The whole industry was so underground. Who could have say its gonna grow like this. Even the more optimistic ones? I wont start the whole “do-we-have-lost-our-soul-thing”…

This is it. A real new street order is now on.

Keep the hawks around.

Because we cant betray our “street-culture” motto and philosphy.

INDEPENDANT. IRREVERENCIOUS. MAVERICK. TWISTING. UNDERGROUND. REBEL. CURIOUS. DIFFERENT.

We’ve to be carefull to not become some new MASS-MARKET SHEEP, who thing they still are underground and differents.

Culture is the key. Money isnt everything…

I cant believe its been one month since my last post on HS blog.

Im really addicted to it.
