It was time for Wu-Tang Clan to come to Stokholm this weekend. A great show and a big crowed made it a big night. Caliroots made the VIP Lounge togeter with Kingsize magazine and New Era sending out give aways and beers to our closest frends. Thanks for a great evening!

NSW Art Run – Stockholm

Tie up your jogging shoes & experience the works of some of Swedens most talented young artists – while running! Nike Sportswear in cooperation with Gallery Steinsland Berliner present an unexpected event where art meets running during a jog through Stockholm’s inner city.

The run starts at the Six Feet Down retail space in the centre of town, where Swedish fashion designer Nhu Duong & Norwegian visual artist Hanne Lippard have transformed Nike’s Liberty collection in to talking flowers. Also displayed at Six Feet Down is photographer Kristian Bengtsson’s tribute to long distance running, inspired by Nike’s legendary V-series.

The route continues to Gamla Stan where you will be guided through some of Stockholms most exciting public artworks.

The Art Run finishes at the Sneakersnstuff store on Södermalm where Stockholm design bureau Byggstudion have created a colorful garden in form of the installation “Floriographic Garden” & artist Igor Zimmerman displays a playful “sprinter” piece inspired by sci-fi thoughts & topology.

Nhu Duong at SFD Sneaker Store

Nhu Duong is one of Swedish fashion design’s foremost newcomers. She presented her debut collection during the Stockholm fashion week in 2009 & won the Mercedes Benz Young Fashion Industry Awards that same year. Her design moves in between the avantgarde & commercial fashion. Beside her own projects she has created collections in collboration with Weekday, Svenskt Tenn & Faux/Real. Nhu Duong was also awarded H&M’s scholarship for Newcomer Of The Year during the Swedish Elle magazine Style Awards in 2010.

Based on Nike’s Liberty collection Nhu Duong has created a piece that plays on floral symbolics. It is an installation that goes beyond the decorative & romantic; researching the communicative strength of botany.
Together with Norwegian artist Hanne Lippard, Nhu Duong bases the installation on the language of flowers, “floriography”. Using sound, printed patterns & differently shaped objects, Hanne & Nhu give the flowers a voice of their own.
As an observer you become a part of the piece. Related to the installation are glass tubes filled with flower seeds to take with you, thus spreading the untold story of the flowers.

Kristian Bengtsson at SFD Sneaker Store

Kristian Bengtsson is a Swedish photographer & one of the founders art magazine & gallery Loyal. He also runs the newly started record label Bengtsson&Wirfält where he, together with cultural journalist Johan Wirfält, releases hand picked music on specially designed vinyl records. For the NSW Art Run Kristian has created a photographical piece inspired by long distance running; An installation built on a sense of freedom & the joy of running. “I wanted to visualize the joyful feeling you get from running & the sense of freedom in running really long distances. Over mountains & bridges, running up stairs & over open fields. I wanted to capture what I believe is an inspiration to everyone who runs. Not just what captures the eye but also the texture & surface of the enviroments you move through as you run.”

The piece is presented in nine edge-lit light panels exhibited both in the window display & in the store at  Six Feet Down retail space.

Last Thusday we had a great Vernisace and Party for our photo excibit togheter with classic Work wear brand Dickies! The store was packed to the limit we people and we all really had a blast. The photos are a take on another photo shoot by Dickies called working in LA. Shot by Erik By Erik the photos contains fellow stockholmians that we feel expiering and that do their thing with love and no comprimise! These are the workers of OUR Stockholm.

Nike Sportswear “American Made” x Cali Spring Party
Last weekend we held the Nike “American Made Spring Party” at secret location in Stockholm.
This party was actually a prize from Nike to us(Cali) for our contribution to the American Made campaign earlier this year.

So first and foremost a big thank you goes out to Nike Sportswear, that did this for us!
Also to thank is every other partners involved that really helped out to create this springs best party;
-Makers Mark, Heineken, AWB and all extra staff.

The set up for the party was to have a special vibe, therefore the dress code was “Black Tie & Sneakers”, and many street peeps, really dressed up to imprress!
Location was a 2 floor Penthouse in the old town of the Stockholm city, with an amazing sea view.

First floor had our local friends and family DJ-ing all night: Name in Lights, CocoTaxi and ShitxFaced.

Second floor had the Parra Soundsystem(Parra, Mr Wix & BenG)kicking off the party off in true style
Then there was some surprise live acts by Adam Tensta crew and the legends PeeWee & Rusiak.
To top things of, we hade NewYork DJ Lord Finesse flewn in, to take the party back to the old skool!!

So again, hope that you who made it to the party had as much fun as we did.

Love & Loyalty MFG is a small Swedish based company that deals in fine hand crafted apparel. The brand is originated by Daniel Jansson & Johannes Wieser, who carries on the leathercrafting traditions of his grandmother.

Using only the finest premium materials such as Japanese solid brass hardware (from the same company that makes hooks & buckles for brands like Warehouse, The Flat Head, Sugarcane & Black Flag) & leathers sourced from coveted Swedish tannery Tärnsjö, who also provides leather for luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada & Acne; the Love & Loyalty MFG leather goods are all completely made by hand in extremely limited numbers in Johannes’ small work shop here in Stockholm.

With our first delivery we recieved Love & Loyalty’s 025 lanyard. Made from the finest 2 mm vegetable tanned cow hide leather, the lanyard is left hand braided & features japanese made large solid brass fish & snap hooks & vintage wooden beads. Comes with a cool hand embossed Made In Sweden label featuring a quirky Stars & Stripes style flag but with the Swedish three crowns where the stars should be.
