Our friend from college just launched a new online web service called PageLime. Basically, its a web-content management site, that lets you update the content, images, and documents on your web site without installing any software. PageLime, saves you time with uploads and re-edits, while allowing clientele to maintain control over content. Given that most of you have a blog, webstore, design firm etc, thought it would be cool to expose y’all to PageLime.  We are also helping them with a giveaway as they launch their service. Uptown DC’s rap king XO, fresh off a Diamond District performance at CMJ, just released a new video for his song “All I Had.” It’s pretty tight visually, and the song bumps too.

The Red Bull “Art of the Can” exhibit was showing at Union Station in DC this week, so we took a walk over and checked it out.  It is really amazing some of the items people made from art supplies and Red Bull cans.  This octopus was freakin’ huge!

VIMBY feature on DURKL’s Grand Opening in Washington, D.C.

This week, we released our first mixtape and tee combo, entitled DURKL’s SURVIVOR SERIES VOL 1.  The 16-track wrestling themed (ohh yeeeeaaahhh!) tape, which was mixed by DJ MAF and produced by Judah, features Empire of the Sun, Tabi Bonney, Rattler, Adam Tensta, La Roux, Suckers, Phil Ade and almost another dozen groups sure to blow your fucking mind. Seriously, we are talking 16 tracks from 16 artists that DURKL truly believes sit at forefront of music right now. There is plenty of Hulk, Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior for y’all mixed throughout too. A few weeks ago DURKL fam E. Hynek hosted a skate jam for underprivileged kids in DC.  Not only did he bring over 50 new/gently used decks, wheel sets, and trucks out, but he built a mani-pad that was permanently added to the bridge spot.  Our homey Clay Kessack came down from NYC to shoot some flicks too.  Lookout for a future DURKL x Kessack collabo.

Warrior Footwear is one of the oldest footwear brands in China.  They recently entered the US market, stocking at Bodega, Alife, and Union amongst others. This weekend they asked us if we wanted to head up to Coney Island and help shoot their new lookbook with some DURKL product. We brought our scraper bikes, Sweet Jayne and E.Hynek, plus male model extrodinaries Ben Burbs and Spencer T.  As it turns out, DC brethren Sean Mattison was shooting the photos as well. The Washington Post, introduced their revamped weekly Sunday magazine this morning.  The new design revealed a new layout, columns, features and logo-ing.  It also included a feature on the shared creative space that DURKL calls home.  443 i St. is not only home to DURKL, but almost a dozen other creatives from bands like US Royalty, to painter Tendai Johnson.  Checkout some pictures of the Gold Leaf tenants below, and read the full text here.
