ONEWAY & adFunture for Shanghai Alleycat

12 November 2009, 20.55 | Posted in Apparel, Events, Toys | No comments »

As we are getting closer to the actual Shanghai Alleycat event, sponsoring brands are rolling out the goodies. None of these items are for sale, but produced to be given away to the participants and winners from the day’s race.

adFunture will be giving away 100 of these Shanghai Alleycat YOKAs to those registering to race that day.

While ONEWAY will drop its newest messenger bag item, and to start things off, 10 of these especially made variants will be awarded to the winners of the different categories in the event.

I held one of these tonight, and must say I like the quality of it.

For its regular season, I know for a fact that ONEWAY will have like 5 other colorways of this design, without the Alleycat logo and VEIL’s logo of course. I wouldn’t mind a red one myself. K, you get my hint~~ :-)

SHANG HIGH 69

10 September 2009, 00.05 | Posted in Apparel | No comments »

Disappeared for a while, I was traveling a bit between 3 Chinese cities.
With Shanghai always being the “Point A” in the equation.
In between stops, I got to see some of adFunture’s apparel products we’ll be dropping for Fall.
Grabbed a few to wear, and some are going out to the media friends for their content use.

SHANG HIGH 69“. One of my personally favorites from this Fall’s t-shirt collection. Wanted to step away from characters and cute stuff for this season. Vinyl figures are the back bone of adFunture as a brand, but that’s not how we live, at least not for myself. I like a little playfulness on the tees that I wear. With the slogan “Every Nite is Prom Nite” on its back, this tee hits the spot. To us, Shanghai, as a city, is full of craziness and “confusing” relationships (ahem…), like you were in high school with a not thing to care.  Everything goes, anything can happen, all depends on how you play it, …..just like prom nite.

If you think I took this from Undefeated, I can tell ya; Nope. I took this from Al Bundy’s Polk High football shirt. I watched the show growing up, it stuck.

(I’ll show the back another day)

adFunture x G-SHOCK: SHOCK THE WORLD Collab

06 August 2009, 15.05 | Posted in Apparel, Design | 1 comment »

When we were asked to collaborate with G-SHOCK, we decided to design a new character. Instead of putting, squeezing the design on a watch strap, we went back to a t-shirt platform. For SHOCK THE WORLD Shanghai, SHOCKA makes its appearance on this G-SHOCK x adFunture collaboration tee.

Expect to find this available next weekend via our website.

As for SHOCKA, expect to see more of it sooner or later.

REMIX Taipei BOTY Capsule: BATTLE FOR LIFE

28 June 2009, 13.06 | Posted in Apparel | No comments »

The boys at REMIX Taipei are at it again. This summer, they are again partnering with dance battle tournament BATTLE OF THE YEAR to celebrate the respected tournament’s 20th anniversary. Much like last year and the year before, REMIX will be coming out with a BOTY capsule, but this year, there will be more items in the capsule titled “BATTLE FOR LIFE”. Products or no products, REMIX is still one of the strongest street culture supporters in Taiwan. Hands down.

Devilock’s Palmboy

08 June 2009, 11.28 | Posted in Apparel, Toys | 1 comment »

Something we have been working on with DEVILOCK’s Endo-san for some time now.
PALMBOY is the Japanese streetwear brand’s famous mascot.
I remember collecting its earlier vinyl figures many years ago, so it was fun for us to re-make this character’s vinyl, but this time, much bigger.

Along with vinyl figures that we love, for this collaboration, we also produced something that I personally love to wear; trucker caps. We had some fun with the graphics, having PALMBOY lying on our logo block, I’m sure he kidnapped our devil girl. 4 colorways, showing you 3 here. I know trucker caps are pretty much an Asian thing nowadays, but we’ll try to make these available in the US too.

300 of the yellow PALMBOYs have been made, we’ll have these available in early July, especially at Taipei Toy Fest. If you love Devilock as much as we do, then make sure you don’t miss out on these bad boys.

INVOKE Party with Tim Wu

27 May 2009, 15.30 | Posted in Apparel, Events, Uncategorized | No comments »

Streetwear outfit INVOKE threw a party at Club DKD last weekend.
Minimal placements, kept it quite lo-key.
A few logo hits here and there, that’s it.
Nicely done by Mr. Box

Our good buddy Tim Wu took the stage to perform for the crowd.
His new single sounds like a winner with the crowd.

INVOKE, another fresh collection to watch out for in the Mainland scene.
MC Tim Wu, he has enough fans to pack this place as it is.
Can’t wait to see his upcoming album in summer.

G Related.

Last week, CASIO hosted a new product conference in Shanghai.
Of course, my first stop was the G-Shock booth above all else.

They showed a series of collaborations the watch giant did over the past 2 years.
And also announced that the G-Lide 5500 model will arrive the Mainland market within the next month or so. Very good news.

Within the CASIO family, there’s a sub-brand named EDIFACE.
The story I got was that EDIFACE was originally made just for the Mainland market, but since it sold so well, this brand is now being brought to other Asia countries as well.
I actually like these models in the EDIFACE line, but frankly, at these prices, I might just go with NIXON.

Speaking of “G”, how about a little sneak-peek on this beautiful Monday morning?
G-Robot, by Jukai, got down-sized!
These bad boys are 9cm tall, and comes in various designs by different collaborators.
These are in production right now, so, July? TTF?

Oliver Hibert / Revelator

22 May 2009, 12.24 | Posted in Apparel, Toys, Uncategorized | 1 comment »

Is Friday here, let’s show you what we have been working on.
No dates, no nothing though.
Is a sample.

Designed by Oliver Hibert, here’s a character we have been working on for a while now.
Without giving too much away, I’ll just let the photo do the talking.
Hope you guys like it.

The new goodies from REVELATOR has just arrived ICONIC-1 this morning.
I personally love this label and Wade’s work, so it was without any hesitations that we ordered almost all the products in the catalog. The first wave for 2009 is looking fresh. I’m already looking forward to the next wave.

ONEWAY’s TRIPLE THREAT

19 May 2009, 12.20 | Posted in Apparel | No comments »

ONEWAY will be celebrating its 3rd anniversary in Taipei next month.
“Triple Threat” you say, K? Let’s see what those will be!

If you’ll be Taipei that weekend, definitely go to this party.
I’m making plans to go as well.

OVERKILL x REMIX Taipei : WEST SIDE RULES

23 April 2009, 18.30 | Posted in Apparel | No comments »

For those who haven’t visited Taipei City or understood the streetwear scene, Taipei scene is basically divided into 2 districts; East Side and West Side. In the East Side, you have BAPE, CSL (carries Visvim, Neighborhood, Sophnet, etc), Phantaci (Nike Tier-0 account) and INVINCIBLE Store (New Balance, OF, Resonate, Undefeated, Revelator, HUF, realmadHectic, etc). West Side being Shi-Men District (Shi-Men Ding), you have your Taiwanese street labels such as B-Side, Provider, C&S, TAKI, and these 2 Taiwanese giants; REMIX and OVERKILL.

Both REMIX and OVERKILL are dominant forces in the TW scene in terms of local brands, and it is so great to see these two working together on a collabo piece. The use of the New Era empire cap 505 cut is a sign that they are trying to think outside of the box, when everyone who is anyone was making their 5950, they went with this lesser use model. The short tongue is making a come-back? Some would say the “WEST” on the side panel might mean West Coast Style, since REMIX seems to go down that route, but to my understanding, OVERKILL is not doing West Coast Style, so, I think (and this is no proven) the WEST meant West Side of the TW scene. Both flagship stores of REMIX and OVERKILL are on the same street (America Street) in Shi-Men. If I’m correct, is quite meaningful.

I love both of these crews, so, big up to both of them. Eric, Kenju, Jess, Tian-Wei, very cool stuff, boyz!
