Greg was in town, so we met up for some spicy Chinese food. Is always nice to see Greg, and damn happy to see the MISHKA outfit is doing so well. LA store and then the Tokyo store, etc etc, all good moves. We were talking about Twitter and since that’s “blocked” in China, we use something similar by Sina. We were taking photos for the respective sites.. yeah, we are geeks…

Hey, he picked this dish, not me!!
Is not as spicy as it seems with the chillies and all. How was the food? Ask him for his opinion.

We hung out til midnite, so that Greg can get me a birthday drink! haha yeah, is my birthday TODAY. Another year older, another year closer to 2012! (if you believe that sorta thing..)

Went to this MESA bar, asked the waiter for their best cocktail, and he brought us these…. “oh is fun, you can mix it up yourself, blah blah blah..” Dude, you gave us a small glass of rum, some sugar syrup and a few slices of lime. Needless to say, no, we didn’t really enjoyed it~~ SO, we went off to another place and ordered a bottle of whiskey. Yeah, stick to something simple~~
Greg, great seeing you again, my friend. And it was great to drink with you and Mike in the early hours on my birthday!~ Getting up to get to work was a bitch, but it surely was fun! haha And like I said, that MISHKA x Rebel8 Fitted was sick! Very nicely done~~ We expect to see more and more folks rocking Mishka here in Shanghai!

Took a train ride out to Ning Bo City with the team. Had to meet a client there, and also using that as an excuse to get away from Shanghai for a few days.

First stopped at Hang Zhou, and then ride another 1.5hrs out to Ning Bo. VEIL’s Su was working on the train all the way through.
If you ever visit the city, you must try their seafood. Due to geographic location, they serve much better seafood than Shanghai. We, of course, took the opportunity to pig-out~

Came to YOKOYAMA.
Just in time to check out their Yokohama Port 150th Anniversary Exhibition.
Needless to say the weekend there was crowded.

The show stopper was Francois Delaroziere’s La Machine.

Unlike the Transformers, this giant machine doesn’t transformer itself into anything. It is, however, a robotic performer that needs 8 people to control and “dance” to the music.

The sky was so blue, I was lucky that the weather has been great while I’m Tokyo so far.

Diet Butcher…. most sizes were sold out.

Finished my day with this for dinner. It was like $12usd….

Woke up early to go check out Tsukiji.
This district of Tokyo is mostly known for its fish market.

If you love sashimi, this is the place to go for the freshest raw fish.

I came across this store where folks were lining up in front.
With a small table set up in front, people can buy the raw seafood and eat it right there. Talk about fresh!

I had a few of these. My favorite sashimi!!! I picked them up and the store owner immediately prepared for me. It doesnt get fresher than this. Yummmm…

A nice temple that I passed by. Dont know much about it though.
If you are interested to visit Tsukiji, bare in mind the market opens at 4:30am, and closes at 11am… dont sleep on this.

The last meeting before Taipei Toy Fest products roll out the magic factory.
New samples were waiting for us upon our arrival, and I was made a happy man.
While the Mini-G project was blogged before, not all variants were shown. Frankly, even I haven’t seen the whole line’s samples. yup. Timing is that tight.
Today I saw the one designed by Victor aka Marka27.
First time working with Victor and he gave us a colorful mind of his creative mind.

Went to Red Dot after work, as luck would have it, they were catering to a group of Indian clients tonite at the resturant, so an Indian chef was hired for the evening to prepare the special meal. Tandoori Chicken was on the menu, and I was given a taste. Yummmmy…. Ok, next week, back to Masala Art I go! Ok, why am I obessing with Indian food this 2 weeks?? Hey, good eats are good eats!
|

It was Friday, Tim Wu came over to have dinner with us, and we wanted to check out new dinner spots. The usual Hong Kong-style cafes we had enough, I suggested Indian food for a change. Tim brought us to Masala Art on Da Ku Road.

Tim and Mia were really enjoying it. This was Tim’s “yumm, this is good” expression….
The food was really good. I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.

Gonna drop this Devilock x adFunture cap in the first week of July in Taipei and Shanghai. US will be a few weeks later.

So wait, first Blogspot got blocked, today, Twitter.
WTF?!
Seriously, this routine needs to change.

Ming took us to this Thai resturant, Bhaa Thai.
Really nice meal, and a constructive meeting got tucked inside this dinner as well.
Finally decisions were made for the new store, and rennovation got under way this morning.
SOLE GOODZ.

Since the BUKA variant from last year, we worked with Vancouver designer Tony of WRONG WROKS again this season. This YOKA variant will be released this July at Taipei Toy Fest. Hope you dig.

Spent a great afternoon chilling with YY at KABB in Xin Tian Di district on this sunny Shanghai Friday.
Is a bank holiday, so we didn’t go back to the studio until 9pm. Not much work was accomplished tonite though, our minds just weren’t there.

KG hooked me up with these. Thanks man.
SuperTeam33 from New Balance. Very cool.
Is sad to hear that NB stopped this collection though.

I’m a huge fan of the GI Joe character Snake-Eyes, and I try to collect all the action figures of him out there. And Hasbro just kept coming out with new ones… so, that’s the game huh? Ok. “The Rise of Cobra” edition… can’t wait for the movie to hit this summer. Should be good. Any fans out there? Or am I the only geek here??
