MILTON by Oliver Hibert

22 September 2011, 12.05 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

The fall season is upon us, and is time to release some new goodies next month. For designer figures collectors, New York Comic-Con is just around the corner (Mid-Oct). adFunture will release the original vinyl designed by American creator Oliver Hibert.

Titled “Milton”, this character originally seen in London’s DesignersBlock back in 2008. That was when Oliver’s work for DesignersBlock at London’s Design Week was short-listed and exhibited in the “Designs of the Year Show” at the London Design Museum.

I was in London for adFunture London Guerilla Store around that time, when I saw Milton sitting on a huge outer wall of a building (didn’t know where I was). Came back to the hotel, and successfully dug up who designed Milton. Milton led me to Oliver’s world of art, and I was instantly impressed. I’m sure you’ll like Milton too.

VEIL Taipei Store

19 December 2010, 22.02 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

While I went quiet on the designer figure front, our team was actually busy with the VEIL project.

After its first retail store in Hong Kong opened back in Feb of 2010, VEIL now has its second location in Taipei City of Taiwan. I’ll show you the store over the next few days, tonight I want to post up the specially made t-shirt we got ready for the Taipei Store’s opening event. We believe alot of people use clothing to represent themselves as who they’d want to be, a veil over their true personalities. Alot of people dress as they are, as how they truly feel, truly fit, but they still have something burried deep in their heart that they don’t want others to see. Everybody wears a Veil.

Rocking this pair this week. Waited for this for quite sometime since the trade show. The mix of materials really made this shoe pop.

VEIL & Suitman

06 August 2010, 20.23 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Young Kim (aka SUITMAN) was in town last weekend for Art Labor Gallery’s exhibition “2nd Impressions”. It was great catching with him. He put on quite an impression for the visitors that night, as always.

Apart from designer vinyls, I continued my involvements with clothing label VEIL. It is still relatively a new brand, we are just getting into our second season. SU and I wanted not to start another t-shirt brand, and we wanted to focus more on cut & sew items from the get-go. Our first drop back in Winter of 2009 was quite fun. Especially fun for me as I got the opportunity to revisit some classic cuttings such as M-65, varsity jacket, etc. Adding, modifying modern classics, that’s the route we are taking. Doing this out of love is key for me personally, as I already have a few day jobs!

Next week, we’ll be dropping 2 new Oxford Shirts. Again, with a little change to the tradition. Hope you guys like what we are doing.

Peep the website to see what we did in our first season.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS for ICONIC-1

18 May 2010, 18.22 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

adidas x iconic-1 store
ADIDAS ORIGINALS did a new mural at our ICONIC-1 Store in Shanghai. This was part of a 7-stores-take-over project. Over one night, 7 stores in Shanghai got painted up. Each one looked different, by different graffiti artist. Ours was done up by SiNic & his crew. I quite like it. This will stay up there for a month or so. I like it so much I might actually keep it up for much longer~

Hong Kong for a bit

16 May 2010, 17.58 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

I was in Hong Kong for a week, catching up with some work over there.  And of course, met up with some old friends.

Went visit the VEIL Store in TST, ran into Hasheeme.

Always nice to see this guy.

Saw Scott again, I think this was the first time we met up in HK, while we are both from the place..

Went look at some pandas…. yup I did.

Cute as heck. Love them.

Speaking of cute, spent lots of time with my sister’s kid, Hailey.

Once again I realize, (some of you will hate me for saying this), kids, like pets, are always cuter and more fun when they are someone else’s~~ Is like I play with her for an hour, and then give her back to Brigitte when she starts crying.. haha Hey, I love the kid, she knows it.

Picked up a few New Eras… the pink and the X-Large Girl’s were for Yoyo.

Even I ain’t flashy enough to rock a pink cap….
I did, however, located a Death Adder by Mishka. That I love.

Ok, will post more another day~

Bubble Tech’d Disc Blaze

27 February 2010, 21.03 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Started the weekend by going to our boy Tim wu’s concert at Dream Factory.

China’s hip-hop is still a rocky road, but Tim is staying with it nonetheless. For this love for his music. His next album will be out soon, we’re all looking forward to that. Will post about it when it drops.

These will finally drop in China next week, been waiting for them for a while.

PUMA’s Bubble Tech Pack kicked things up a notch by getting a lil’ hybrid thingy goin’ with marque models such as SKY II, Mid and one of my personal favorite, the Disc Blaze! I broke out a pair of the Disc for my weekend~~ Love the color combo! Gonna offer all 3 models at SoleGoodz next weekend, I’m sure these won’t stay on the racks too long.

Happy New Year!!

Guang Zhou City snaps

03 November 2009, 20.13 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

I was in Guang Zhou City (Mainland China) for the weekend.
This city has been under development for so so many years, and is still moving forward.

Halloween Nite. I walked passed this old building, only then did I remember what day it was.

Have you seen this by PUMA?
Is a special edition model made for the China market in celebration of the country’s 60th birthday. Pretty neat colorway if you ask me. That red star has to be the cake topper.
