Concepts x New Balance Release Party

22 November 2009, 23.28 | Posted in Concepts, Family, Music, Product, The Butcher Block | No comments »

With the upcoming highly anticipated release of the Concepts x New Balance “Freedom Trail” pack collaboration, we decided to throw a little pre-release party at Club Sanctuary in Boston. The turn out was amazing and the legendary Bounce Master Dj Doo Wop and Boston’s own Brek. One tore the spot down. Big shouts the New Balance team for holding us down, Paulina @ Sanctuary, Frankie, Brand Nation, Brek. One and Doo Wop (BSA 2010!) for the great night.

Remember: The Freedom Trail pack will be available 11/27 (Black Friday)

Pete with number 22 and 96 on the official “What White People Like” list. Ok…22 is “microbreweries” but the list maker needs to research how white people react to PBR… incredible. New Balance should definitely be higher on the list too. Just my own observations….

New Balance, Clarks, Red Wing, Sorel, Nike, Mitchell & Ness, Canada Goose and Timberland are some of the companies I have had the pleasure of working with but more importantly, learn from. I look forward to showing the world what we have been up too. Stay tuned….

I’m especially proud of this project here.

Timberland partnered with Concepts on an event to launch their fall 09 Abington boot collection. Abington, which is Timberland’s original company name, is a top tier offering of classic styles with an emphasis on heritage and quality.

All of Abington’s campaign and look book imaginary is the work of the super talented 13th Witness. The event not only showcased great product but Concepts was converted into a gallery showcasing 13th’s original photography with Bobbito Garcia and Futura providing the music.

Fall 09 Abington boot collection available now at Concepts.

Big thanks to Brian Coleman for the commitment to getting this event right and everyone that made to time to come through.

Fall 2009 Red Wing Washaba

Fall 2009 Red Wing Washaba leather and canvas boot is unbelievable. I Just got a special delivery from Red Wing and couldn’t wait to show the world.

I’d like to think last years Concepts Red Wing 875 boot which featured leather and canvas has something to do with this but either way these boots are very dope. Thanks Steve!

Sneaker Freaker #16 has officially dropped!! One of the best issues yet with multiple covers including the limited “Skippy” cover showcasing the Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 580. This issue also highlights my Canadian fam Ransom’s Adidas project (no not one shoe, no not a retro in new colors… a line of original Ransom Adidas!) and the Concepts “Freedom Trail” New Balance project (more to come on that!). Oh yeah— Fuck you to who ever leaked the photos early.

06 July 2009, 17.40 | Posted in Concepts, Product, The Butcher Block | No comments »

As a part of Nike’s and Live Strong’s Tier O campaign, Nike has partnered with England’s Brooks Saddles to create some custom pieces to accompany each shoe drop. Concepts just received the first saddle (and wooden tool box) which is laser engraved with legendary Los Angeles artist Mister Cartoon’s “LA” icon. Toons’ Live Strong AF1 sold out across the country when it dropped this passed weekend.

More saddles to follow which include Futura and Busy P. We’ll keep you posted.

More pics here.

My brother and Concepts family, Masspike Miles has been holding down Boston forever. Miles is now down with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music and has been reppin Boston and Concepts all over the world. Literally. From Miami to Columbia and everywhere in between. Miles was down in Miami for Memorial Day weekend doing shows with his Maybach team and the boss himself, Ricky Rawss. Peep the video below with Miles rockin our brand new block letter fitted fresh out the box. Download his new mixtape “Pursuit Of Happiness” here.
