22 November 2009, 23.28 | Posted in Concepts, Family, Music, Product, The Butcher Block | No comments »

With the upcoming highly anticipated release of the Concepts x New Balance “Freedom Trail” pack collaboration, we decided to throw a little pre-release party at Club Sanctuary in Boston. The turn out was amazing and the legendary Bounce Master Dj Doo Wop and Boston’s own Brek. One tore the spot down. Big shouts the New Balance team for holding us down, Paulina @ Sanctuary, Frankie, Brand Nation, Brek. One and Doo Wop (BSA 2010!) for the great night.

Remember: The Freedom Trail pack will be available 11/27 (Black Friday)

If you’ve been keeping up with me, you may have realized I dabble in music. It’s my passion but unfortunately it’s lower than a few other things on my priority list. Hopefully that will change because music production is a total creative release and opportunities like this wake the sleeping beast inside.
Big shouts to Ro Spit (What? Don’t know? You will soon!), my man Curt@!n$, Big Sean of Good Music and my big homie Bun B (good looks my dude!!).

Ro Spit’s “The Oh Shit Project” is fire and will be released this Tuesday.

Special shout to my little bro Paul Mighty. If I produced it he was most likely there making sure I’m on point. Fam.

Jay Z, Wale, Nerd and J.Cole had a stop on the Blueprint 3 tour in Providence on Saturday. Great show and great seats thanks to my man Wale (and thanks for the shout during your show!).

Do you know what happens at a Hov show? Hits after hits after hits… a break… then more hits…!

CONCEPTS ABINGTON EVENT

19 September 2009, 18.33 | Posted in Concepts, Friends, Music, Product, The Butcher Block | No comments »

Timberland partnered with Concepts on an event to launch their fall 09 Abington boot collection. Abington, which is Timberland’s original company name, is a top tier offering of classic styles with an emphasis on heritage and quality.

All of Abington’s campaign and look book imaginary is the work of the super talented 13th Witness. The event not only showcased great product but Concepts was converted into a gallery showcasing 13th’s original photography with Bobbito Garcia and Futura providing the music.

Fall 09 Abington boot collection available now at Concepts.

Big thanks to Brian Coleman for the commitment to getting this event right and everyone that made to time to come through.

Nike / Vegas / DJ Premier

05 September 2009, 16.42 | Posted in Music, The Butcher Block | No comments »

Nike put together a very cool dinner party for their top retailers which included the incomparable and legendary DJ Premier providing the tunes. On a sad note, Premo was supposed to be joined by the late great DJ AM for this event and wore a tee shirt which featured a photo of them together in his honor.

It was amazing to finally see Premo doing his thing live and meeting him was a real highlight.

Great music, atmosphere and food (ok… the food was a little weird). Thanks Nike

De La Soul: 20 Year Anniversay Tour

21 August 2009, 02.57 | Posted in Friends, Music, The Butcher Block | No comments »

The legendary De La Soul are on tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album “3ft High and Rising”. I had the pleasure of catching the show and hanging with the crew while they were at Showcase Live in Foxboro MA. Of course they killed it especially during the performance of “Rock Co Kane Flow”. Big shouts to my man Brian Coleman and Pos.

Chace Infinite would of killed that beat….

13 August 2009, 04.02 | Posted in Friends, Music, The Butcher Block | No comments »

My big bro Chace of Self Scientific / Soul Assassins is a staple in the L.A. hip-hop scene. He’s knows everyone and most of them before they were anyone. When I heard he was doing a mixtape over Dj Khalil’s production for other rappers (his partner in Self Scientific and producer of The Clipse and Kanye joint) it wasn’t a surprise. He would have killed those beats and isn’t afraid the say it.

I told Chase that when he talks to me he sounds like he’s rapping… Go check Chace out at the Prohibit Flagship Store in NYC.

Mixtape drops in September.
