Monocle Time
When the latest Monocle issue comes in, thats always good news. That’s when I wish for a rainy weekend. For me it’s one of the few magazines out there, that I cannot entirely read on a short flight, and that’s good news.
The latest issue is especially good, as it is about how craft returns and how companies bring back their production to the western world. The main reasons are the customers desire for higher quality and of course rising oil prices, that make transport much more expensive.
This issue also comes with the Accessories Directory 2008. They present bags, gadgets, sunglasses and more and pretty much get it all right. The directory also includes some great articles on the actual production of some classics, such as Borsolino hats in Italy, companies that have until today never changed their production techniques.
