Once a year we clean our stocks. Low pricing isn’t even the right word to describe this mayhem sale session. This year the sale is located at the Sint Nicolaasstraat 38, which is the alley right across the street of Patta. We’ll start  on August 28, at noon. Make sure you’re there cause he who looks good will look good.

In Amsterdam, the third weekend of August is known to be very quiet. There’s a very simple reason for that: Lowlands Festival. Lowlands is without a doubt the best festival in the Netherlands. They have a huge line-up ranging from Arctic Monkeys to Snoop Dogg to Benga & Skream to Them Crooked Veltures, accompanied by a good bunch of friends of the Honorable People! 

Like every year we are at the festival to go bad with Amsterdam’s finest! It will be a 3-day mayhem for which we’re already afraid. We’ll put the censored pics online next week!

It’s summer in Amsterdam. Summer in Amsterdam is lovely. And a lovely summer calls for summer music. This is proper summer music.

Our friends of Aux Raus are releasing their second album this sunday. Their first album was a gabber-punk mayhem with which killed every venue they played. Funny enough, Kees de Koning, owner of the most important Dutch Hiphop label, decided to sign the boys. On the second album Aux Raus broadened their sound. For the Dutchies among us, check out this review Nieuwe Revu wrote.

Check out their new album The Brick is in the Air on Top Notch/Universal and if you’re in Holland this sunday make sure you’re at Trouw were the release party will go down Aux Raus style. This is how this works!

Recently Zwart Licht killed the Appelsap festival in the Oosterpark. They’re about to release their video ‘Guillontine’, directed by fellow rapper Salah Edin. It’s only a teaser for now, but we saw the whole edit and have to give them major credits for that moody, dark twist they gave it! When the full version hits VIMEO we’ll make sure to warn you.

Musical Heritage…

When People think of Bacardi they think of cocktails, which is not wrong at all! But next to the cocktails there has been a very important element that goes side by side with Bacardi; Music! Since the early days of Bacardi, in the 1920’s, the family have been supportive to local artists and their music. They didn’t just invite artists to come play at the many parties, but they also gave them a chance to record in the studio. Sometimes this artists were rejected for what so reason at record companies. A good example is Celia Cruz who got rejected by a record company because she wasn’t ‘pretty’ enough. Fortunately she got adopted by the Bacardi family and the rest is history………

Times have changed, music has changed, but the idea to give people a stage to show their talent is something Bacardi didn’t let go. So therefore they came up with the concept of Visita. A party where people can get good cocktails en good music. Not only from known artists but also from local talented people, who get a chance!

Mo Manager and his Beesmunt Soundsystem boys will drop Genesis at the Paradiso with a special guest appearance by Strip Steve from Boys Noize Recordings. Yesterday marked the 27th birthday of one of Amsterdam’s finest; Fab Five Faberyayo. Cheers bro!
