NEW ILOVEDUST STUDIO OPENS
After a few years feeding the ducks in the picturesque fishing village of Emsworth in Hampshire, England, we have relocated our studio back to the South Coast town of Southsea. We’re back to the place we originally started in 5 years ago, with a new central location in an old butcher’s workshop.
Looking to the heritage of the building for inspiration, ‘The Old Workshop’ is a fresh take on a design studio. Graphics on feature walls take cue from characteristic butcher’s packaging and combine with iconic design interiors to create a functional working space.
The project itself took around 4 weeks to complete. The interior was completely ripped out to reveal original parquet flooring while walls were moved and built to create defined areas within the main studio. The team involved had a limited budget to work with, making the use of materials already available such as the flooring, key to the project’s success. Stainless steel work surfaces complete with butcher’s blocks are complimented by bespoke desking areas as well as the obligatory Eames chairs, creating the perfect mix of classic and contemporary with clean lines and butchery.
