My girlfriend will show her short animation movie ‘Inner Beauty’ at this exhibit, a project she graduated with in 2005. So go and check it out from April 18 through April 22 in Museo Luciano Minguzzi, Milan. If you can’t make this (like me aaargh!) here’s the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Yd0k9nINww

Besides this expo loads loads and loads of stuff happening in Milan this week. Ofcourse all the furniture design and art shows, but also other fields are presenting some good stuff…just some examples: Hussein Chalayan will show his amazing electronic dresses at Corso Como and coming friday Perks and Mini will present ‘The Changes’ exhibit at the SlamJam store, followed up with an afterparty at Bond!

A must see when you’re in the area! Well, I’m busy plus one finishing off the new S/S08 collection, so no cocktails, sun and pizza for me unfortunately *!!@**

1 year ago Vice magazine landed in The Netherlands. In this year they’ve managed to throw some legendary parties across this country, spit out a great issue each month and do some dope collabo’s ;)

I really enjoyed working with this team and last thursday we celibrated their anniversary in Studio 80 in Amsterdam…congratulations to the whole Vice crew and here you see what a messed up show it was this time.

Freshcotton Garagesale

10 April 2007, 22.48 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Our ‘ketelbinkie’ friends at Freshcotton (www.freshcotton.com) organised a garagesale at the Flexbar in Amsterdam a few weekends ago…so you’d expect some  picts of all the good shit they sell for crazy prices BUT when I arrived EVERYTHING was sold out..! After 2 hours they sold all of their stock, people queuing up, all gone, MAD.

So we were left there with some fine tunes and a good old visit to the nearby funfair. Yiaaaahhh! Especially the Ghost House rocked as usual:(

One of the nice things of running your own label is that you have some stuff to trade with other good stuff;) We sended Mark ‘Cobrasnake’ some Royal Jelly Ontour and he sended a few of his own designs towards us, great. We’ll wear it well.

Keep checking www.thecobrasnake.com to see the man, who almost parties as much as I do, in action!

Master Geoff McFetridge

07 April 2007, 23.07 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Wow, this animation made my day. The master Geoff McFetridge delivers some quality as usual. I already watched it a couple of times and it gets better and better the more you look at the details. In Design School I once had to make a 30 seconds hand drawn animation…so I know the blood and tears that go into these kind of pieces. Check it out and start smiling boyyyy (great song by The Whitest Boy Alive)!

Thanks to my man Rop for keeping his eyes open on this one.

Swoon and Poncho in Mu

04 April 2007, 19.58 | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 comments »

Hello World. First post for HighSnob! Looking forward to show you what’s happening in The Netherlands, Eindhoven represent. I will be dropping posts about stuff that keeps me smiling in daily life. Expect some reports about our own label and all the shit that’s happening to keep this business running, interviews with some bad-ass creatives around me, their works, gallery and shops visits, some serious parties, crazy movies, my heroes and other random stuff that’s just too good not to be shown. Enjoy.

Some paper and scissors have the honour to be the subject of my first blog post…We went to check out the opening of Swoon and Poncho at art gallery MU in the centre of Eindhoven. Paper-cut artist Swoon, whose home base is Brooklyn and stencil artist Poncho from Chiapas in the southeast of Mexico, have joined forces to show the ever-growing divide between rich and poor, between power and powerlessness, between the US and Mexico.

The whole exposition was made out of cardboard and paper and in some pieces the different worlds of Western street art and Mexican murals fused nicely together. I wasn’t blown away to be honest, but that’s also because my expectations of the shows in MU are quite high, because of the expo’s they’ve organised in the past (more on that later!).

Anyways, I had a good night with some of our friends, like the ever evil E, Mr. Cosmic Crack himself.

And finally ended up in one of the dodgiest but nicest bars in Eindhoven: LaFolie.

Well here a bit more background about this gallery MU. You should check out their site and have a look at the exhibitions they’ve curated in the past:

http://www.mu.nl

Quite an impressive list of names they brought to this small city if you ask me;

Kim Gordon, Spike Jonze, Mark Gonzales (2000), Delta, Aaron Rose (2001), Kaws, Space3 (2002), Ben Drury, Futura, Stash, Betamaxxx(2003), Mike Mills (2004), Cosmic Wonder (2005), Ari Marcopoulos (2006), 2K, Peter Sutherland (2007) to name a few! Here some picts of some of these expos (made by MU):
