STRP Festival
Last weekend we went to the second edition of Strp festival for 3 days in an old factory building. It’s one of the biggest art and technology festivals in Europe and hosts a multidisciplinairy international program with more than 120 pieces of art, performances and artists.
The nice thing about this is that the parties at night are very good and at the same time you can see all the installations made. Well, to be honest, I was there for the parties on friday and saturdayevening and didn’t see a lot from all the art around me…so went back on sunday to have a proper look. Here some snaps from the work and from the nightlife ofcourse!
This was a nice piece from Freerk Wieringa, called ‘Hand’, refering to the hand of God. You were able to interact with a touchscreen and program and control the ‘hand of God’…
Whitevoid / Christopher Bauder showed the Electric Moons project; floating balloons that act like pixels in an enormous grid, slowly move up and down and form big images. For this performance Monolake composed a musicpiece in which the Electric Moons and the music are reacting to eachother:
There were loads of other nice interactive installations, so if you’re into art, electronics, robots, interaction design, games etc this is a great festival to go to. Now the parties itself, but as I said the combination with the art stuff was really cool; like this projected Daft Punk record on the floor. When you walk on it you play the record, so you could ’scratch’, rewind and accelerate the track…Around the world around the world…
