So, after Barca it wasn’t enough for me and headed out to Frankfurt. Came back on friday evening from BBB and early saturdaymorning drove with Etienne and our new roommate Sebaske to Bright. Here our German distributor showed Ontour in a prisoncell booth, number 123. This was the second time Etienne were here and the vibe is always good and chilled out. Ofcourse we brought some eyeballs:
In front of our booth with Sebastian, owner of Kickback berlin (
www.kickbackberlin.com) and our first gerrman customer from the beginning, and Tim our distributor from Burning Business and 667:
Ontour vs Wemoto: no enemies, but beerbuddies in their booth:
Hanging in the corridor with Jason and Matt from Official hats:
Dope expo about Steve Rocco / World Industries and all the artwork, adds, fights, diss and fucked up humour they created:
The laser cut architecture model from Onitsuka Tiger:
Bowl inside the tradeshow:
On doctors advice we bought some of these Frankfurter UFO’s, cause the women who was baking these looked so healthy:
In the evening we went to this huge traditional Frankfurter restaurant, or shall we call it eating factory, where it was cramped with locals sitting on long tables…
where everybody was drinking liters and liters of Apfelwein:
and eating kilo’s and kilos of Kartofeln mit Fleisch und die berühmt gewordene Frankfurter Grüne Sauce!! Lekker!
We had a good time with Tim and his crew:
After that it was partytime again and we had to cue up for this Vice party…ofcourse:
Finally inside, it was the same old story…
Here we go again, Big C showing some moves: Ein, Zwei, Polizei:
Jean, our Belgian distributor from Citykingz and Toykyo, in the Hause!
The crowd:
A party is always a succes when there are nice girls and you have eyeballs…
The Ontour sticker fun began again…
The freaks come out at night…
It all went downhill from here…to the BOTTOM

Immediately after Frankfurt we went to Amsterdam on mondaymorning to finish this deadly week. To check out tradeshow Modefabriek, well in fact to see the Superstore; a huge store in the middle of the tradeshow showcasing design in all forms. From clothing to books, to furniture, food, movies, electronics, art etc. The selection of items, development of the concept and design of the space is done by my girlfriend and the studio Stijlinstituut she works for. So that was the reason for me and Wouter to have a look and ofcourse meet some lost souls in between the fashion glutter.
This is the 4th version of the superstore and this years theme was virtual greenhouse. From the invite: “The many applications by socially concerned and committed designers underline the importance of a new perspective on the combination of natural origin and artificial creation with high-tech innovations.
A space is created, a taste lab, a conservatory where the fusion between modern technology, science and experiment becomes one with nature.”
The space looked really good and a nice selection of products. As you can see the exhibition breathes an atmosphere in between a biolaboratory and greenhouse…
Here a short selection of some of the weird and fabolous stuff:
Concrete tiles that reveal a floral pattern when it rains.
Wearables based on forms and structures from nature.
Super sick ’superheroes’ made out different parts of insects, transforming into new freaky insects:
Experimental furniture and pieces of clothing:
Plants made out of rubber…
Bowls shaped around fruits and vegetables..
captain Cuckoo Brains headwear…
Oh No…who’s that?…who’s that ghost in the smoke?…it can’t be…it can’t be Mr. Tradeshow aka Big Fashionista C again?…..Oh No….
YES!! It is! Big C represent again, the first time with something healthy in his hands. Thanks man, for being my partner in crime this hell week.
Bye to the first round of tradeshows…Dusseldorf and London are the next stops. More soon. I’m out.

The new sales season is about to explode and yesterday we received the samples of our upcoming A/W08 collection….Cosmic Crack Ontour:
This collection is a step into a new direction for us, all designs are made with a local artist who’s alter ego is “Cosmic Crack and the powerblast movement”, I’ve already dropped some of his work on this blog a few times.
I can tell you…the samples look amazing and very special. We can’t compare this collection with our previous ones and I think we’ve now reached another galaxy. Everybody’s really excited to show the items and we can’t wait for the sales season to start. We will present this collection at the following shows:
Bright tradeshow Frankfurt Germany 19-20 January www.brighttradeshow.com
WEARe fair Dusseldorf Germany 8-10 February www.weare-duesseldorf.de
TBC fair London UK 10-11 February
www.2beconfirmed.com
Besides some of us can be found at Bread and Butter coming week, so drop me a line when you want to drink a beer with us: remco@ontourlab.com
Here’s a bit more info about our friend Cosmic Crack, aka Evil E:
Cosmic Crack currently an Eindhoven native, is a botanical artist with a fresh approach to the well known cosmic genre.
From his early work to his later work with Betamaxxx (of which he is the co-founder) Cosmic Crack has carried his fascination with the unique and unusual into a wide range of multi-media artwork, including various installations,as well as design of concepts that are unsurpassed for their innovation and theoretical intergallactical flair.

Yesterday it was time for our photoshoot for the new Spring / Summer 08 Ontour collection. I’m not going to release the theme for coming season yet, but you can already have a sneak peek at some items and get an idea of some of the upcoming prints and styles and maybe guess what will go ontour next…
The whole concept of the photos will be based round our upcoming theme and the picts need some serious after effects to achieve the result we have in mind. But first we had to shoot our models in the studio and this time, besides looking good, the models had to do some acting as well:
Our photographer Jorma organised a great studio and bought some new proffesional light sets, so it was a very smooth working way. This time we worked with two models: our starmodel Rop and new face Lucy:
The directors are happy:
Strict instructions needed:
Backstage in the fancy dressing room:
Work in progress:
Checking the first results on screen:
That’s a wrap! Now it’s time to go through all the images, do the selection and get everything in the right after effects…we think the result will be amazing…so stay tuned, because this new collection and campaign will be released beginning of February!!
Thanks everybody for this nice day.

Ontour was set up in 2005 as a platform for creativity and a space to play with ideas that were in our heads for years. Since then we're steadily building up the clothing label and the world around it, including parties, expo's, publications and design projects. A look behind the scenes of our brand, our lifes, what's happening in The Netherlands and the people, objects and events that inspire us.
"What goes Ontour stays Ontour".
