Immediately on the first day of Dutch Design Week there will be one of the best openings and presentations: ‘Plakboek’ book presentation at Your Space on saturday the 18th of October at 16:00 hours. Don’t miss out on this one. Eindhovens finest Space3, Erosie and CrackRock have work hard lately to dig up and select the best of their and this towns streetart, that has always been very progressive and with an unique character. This resulted in a 180 pages thick book… I’ve seen some work in progress spreads and this is going to be a must have for people interested in the scene.

Unique to the Eindhoven streetart scene is the combination of localism and globalism. The scene is broad, in the sense that it encompasses various age and style streams, and at the same time it is closely-knit because of long-standing bonds of solidarity. Unlike the street scenes in other cities, the Eindhoven scene is charaterised by a typically Brabant, easy-going, artistic/creative-oriented cohesion. This scene has succeeded in creating an international profile for itself, precisely because of its unique local existence. Large numbers of works from Eindhoven can be admired from Lisbon to Berlin, in the Palais de Tokyo and elsewhere, and in all major international streetart books. The scene has always moved relatively apart from the established art world. your-space presents this scene in an exhibition and honours it with a publication.

Our favourite Dutch gallery MU will celebrate its 10th birthday on Friday October 10!

During the day there will be a symposium about internet and art blogging (hmm interesting;). After that there will be a big party with a few international guests on the line up…

The symposium will be held in the White Lady auditorium from 14:30 – 18:00 hours with ie. Regine Debatty from www.wemakemoneynotart.com and Alain Bieber from www.rebelart.net.

The Party will start at 21:00 and has a very good line up with:

In a couple of weeks the Dutch Design Week will start again here in Eindhoven, meaning 8 days fully packed with design and art exhibitions all over town and lots of openings and parties ahead…Flyers are spreading from now, so expect more updates on this and when you’ve been thinking about visiting Eindhoven for a while, this should be the week to come over! Last weekend was a killer; 2 big nights out in one night!

First of all The Fresh Fissa from the Freshcotton crew in Bitterzoet. To celebrate the birth of their new and improved website and to say bye bye to John (one of the company owners) who’s going back to Surinam. Afterwards we headed out to a secret Bunker, where Patta celebrated their release with Adidas…party was off the hook, I arrived quite late, too bad I missed so many people who were already gone…but we finished it in style! Guys, next time make sure you plan such an event on the same night…it kills me.

Inspiration?? Lately I’ve been reading a lot on blogs / forums about who’s copying who and if something is inspired by something else or just a simple copy / bite…interesting topic, so if you want to discuss, just drop me a line…but we were really amazed when we saw this product in one of the biggest Dutch retail chains…a one to one copy of our Bermuda Triangle hoodie from last season…now in store done by their inhouse design label…Inspiration?? Yeah right, they didn’t even bother in changing the colorway…

CrackRock, Suus en me went to Dusseldorf for the weekend, because we were invited by Jue to create an instore event together with our friends from Hamburg Yeahboy to present our new AW08 collection in this dope store Jues:

The days in Dusseldorf were really nice; on friday CrackRock and Suus painted one of the big shop windows:

On saturday it was showtime with drinks in the store, a new computergame from Mexer, a new project from Esperando, 667 goods and ofcourse our own new collections. It was great to meet again with some of my German friends, we had a super nice time and a big thanks to our German distributor, the guys from Panorama. Till next time, here some more picts:
