Manana Arts Gallery is that brand new hotspot on the Witte de With in Rotterdam. Ontour hooked up with the 2 guys who run this space and used to live in Eindhoven, loving their works. Besides spreading love, for now this collabo means Baschz & Julstar are becoming our fashion models and Mañana visitors might get lucky and get some free Ontour gear, co-designed by Cosmic Crack. Other plans will follow soon.

Every month Manana presents a new exhibition. Artists vary from young and upcoming superstars to bigshots who still act like they’re young and upcoming. Every second friday of the month  they celebrate a new opening and that’s a party like a party’s supposed to be. The gallery is situated on the first floor of Rotterdam’s finest cocktail bar. So expect fresh deejays, damn sweet cocktails and professional ass shaking all night long.

Some history…Etienne and I studied at the Design Academy here in Eindhoven and when we started there as fresh newcomers we were immediatley blown away by the stuff of Baschz who was a few years above us. His graduation work and what he’s done in the city was amazing and together with CrackRock he formed  Betamaxxx and made some legendary work, like the CashRules expo in MU years ago.

Now he’s living in Rotterdam and known for rockin hard with TicToc and Lamball Bakra. Enough of the talking, just google his name and find out about him, his brilliant ideas and his SKILLS….here some spreads from his sketchbook…and you see what I mean:

Yesterday Nobody Beats the Drum came to our office for a visit and a tea with cake. These guys have been making some sick music last years and are going strong at the moment. They know how to get your feet from the floor and last month they’ve done that in Russia…with some vodka.

Some good things coming up, like a UK tour in january. Jori, Rogier and Sjam are not the types who sit still so besides NBTD they are heavily involved in other music and multimedia projects like C-Mon and Kypski, Boemklatsch, 100% Halal and Sjammie the Money to name a few. Anyways, we like them and we like what they do and visa versa so we decided to start up some stuff together. We had a little braindump about what we can do, more about that soon.

They’ve taken shitloads of Cosmic Crack gear back home, so be on the look out for flyers to see them live anywhere in your area! For now, enjoy some youtube footage from them in action …volume up please!

Viktor and Rolf showed their 2009 spring/summer collection this morning. Not on the catwalk in Paris but on their website…recently being bought by Renzo Rosso they decided to launch their ‘Funny Face’ collection online and offer everybody a front seat and first glimpse of their new designs. Looking at the media coverage they’re getting with this idea, I think more people then ever will see their creations. The way it’s done on their site is pretty nice with only Shalom Harlow, whose face was the backdrop for their show last year, as the model wearing the collection, presented in the Grand Salon of their virtual house.

Also the collection itself looks strong with some superdope graphics. Go to their site and also check the extra features. “It is a take on what a fashion show might be in the future,” say Viktor & Rolf. We like it.

Our man Y\’skid is becoming one of the most influential politicians in this town. Recently he invaded the city hall with his program to educate kids in Eindhoven ghetto areas with hiphop workshops. Guess who I’m talking about on this picture?
