The guys from Patta always bring these nice video features on State magazine and for this just released edition Tim and Edson walk around in Barcelona and visit the previous Bread and Butter show for some interviews and sneak previews at upcoming products. It feels like already a long time ago this last show, because we’re up to our  heads into the preparing the upcoming Berlin one, but they’ve made it into a fun, interesting and big feature, divided into 3 parts. We also get a bit of shine in part 3, besides nice parts with Jeff Staple, David Wilson from Kangol, Remko from Asics amongst others and some of this years Patta’s collabo’s are announced and shown with ie. ProKeds, Saucony, Kangol…more soon.

Check out all parts here at State

Queensday Amsterdam – EHV

28 April 2009, 22.43 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

I recently moved to Amsterdam. Yes, quite unexpected I left our hometown Eindhoven to do a bit of living the life in our capital. Every morning I take the early train to our office in Eindhoven and in the evening train back, no problem so far so good, I quite like the hours in the train and love our new appartment. But sometimes there are these dilemma’s, mainly on the party front…like Queensday, the day whole of Holland turns orange and I have to chose between 2 of my favourite cities…Well, decision has been made and the Ontour team will split up for the first time in about 10 years; I’ll do A’dam and Etienne and Wouter will do EHV.

For the people in Eindhoven, this is THE party to go to on thursday:

For the people in Amsterdam these are THE parties to go to:

So I’ll be in Club Up and Waldorf the coming days, expect some orange picts soon!

Timboektoe

Lat saturday was the opening of the beach season at Timboektoe, the best beach club of Holland. I went there with a bunch of crazy Amsterdammers, some of them also had to do a bit of dj-ing…as a rookie I expected just a small party in a typical beachhut, but in real life it was a massive packed sweating crowd stuffed on top of eachother in 2 areas…mad party. Me and Sebas (scroll down) were too busy with not falling over we didn’t take that much picts, but hey here you go:

BLUR!

Roel Wouterse

My friend Rene from Mark A recently worked on the identity and campaign for the first edition of the Breda filmfestival. They worked together with Roel Wouterse on the trailer and Rene brought his work to my attention again. I already knew this great video he did for zZz ‘The Grip’.

This is a one take, top shot music video with trampoline gymnasts simulating typical video effects. The video has been recorded live, as part of the opening ‘Nederclips’ at the Stedelijk museum ’s-Hertogenbosch. The important criteria were that the audience at the opening would be able to witness the whole shoot, and that the videoclip would be added to the exhibition immediately after the shoot. This meant they had no option to reshoot or edit if something went wrong….check it out:

Then I saw the second video he’s done for zZz: Running with the Beast from their new album.
Roel made a music video, the artwork and a series of posters. The project is about two artists who have created the conditions to capture rage n a sytematic way. Two colored cocks print their fight on a sheet of paper. This is so strong:

Last one is a music video for Robot High School directed by Roel Wouters with music by My Robot Friend. It was shot in a single take in an abandoned warehouse in Amsterdam.
The music video address the issues of how perspective can manipulate our view of reality…

Have a look at all his other projects at his site. Hollands got talent!

Mon amis inspired me to post a bit more of the good stuff around me. I’m sure sure if I will stick to the ‘inspiration of the day’ and maybe it will become inspiration of the week soon, but hey it’s a start. So I like to show you the work of Christoph and Daniera from Raw Color. They’re based here in Eindhoven and this is one of their inspiring projects…Recently I’ve worked wit them on a project for Philips Design and at home we’ve got this great little booklet they’ve made for Dutch Design week last year, maybe I’ll show that later. For now enjoy this.
