World Port Tournament

My favourite sport is baseball and unusual for somebody living in Holland. Soccer, iceskating, cycling, tennis, hockey are the national sports over here and always on tv. No one broadcasts baseball. I played the game for about 15 years and still love it. Last 2 weeks was a pleasure because the national teams of Cuba, Japan and Taiwan were here for The World Port Tournament in Rotterdam, to play against The Netherlands. What most people don’t know is that we have the best baseball team in Europe!

After a terrible start, we lost the first 4 games, the Dutchies fought their way back and finally reached the final. But hey, beating Cuba is another ballgame…

I was there for 2 games: Cuba vs The Netherlands (lost 10-6):

And saw Japan beating Taiwan (6-1):
