3 x 3 = 9

20 October 2009, 22.03 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Okay our friend Danny is the mastermind behind several brands and one of these is his one-man project Man on the Moon. Always super fresh concepts and he dares to take risks. He just released the ‘3 x 3 = 9′ series. Again some inovative cuts and graphics. I think this graphic is super strong:

This one is from the nr. 13 willy series:
“3 pieces  honouring the legacy of the late great Willy Vandersteen while critizing the change in suske’s clothes from his stylish  polo, slacks and shoes to baggy t-shirt, cargo pants and sneakers.”

This one is from the nr. 12 minimal series:
“3 pieces about how skate shirts used to have a small version of the back print as a chest print.”

Go check out the complete line and read his blog!

Some more interesting expos coming week in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week:

Remember 2 years ago we opened our office / showroom and did a small expo with I Have Pop. He’s back in Eindhoven with a new ’street furniture’ project showing at Area 51. Flyer looks promising…

Re-Kwi-Siet “Esther de Groot, Bart Hess, and Harm Rensink present an exhibition in which individual work
alternates with collaborative projects. The connecting themes of sensitivity and refinement ensure consistency and highlight the concept of “theatre” from a different angle.” Knowing Bart Hess this will be some next level work.

Dings is hosting a bike exhibition where we will also show our Freshcotton x Breg Hanssen bike. “Dings shows off the story of the contemporary function of the racing bike & trackbike in a mash-up exhibition!
Old versus new, retro meets urban, function versus fashion, design meets art, profession versus hobby >>>
Bikemessenger or Hipster? Fixed gear or Singlespeed? Trackracing or Bike polo?”

Everything kicks off coming weekend! Good reason to visit Eindhoven.

New York Minute

We’re just back from our holiday in Italy, where we visited Rome, Napels and the Sorrento coast. Had a very relaxed time and the last 2 days of our holiday we were back in Rome to visit some galleries. When we visited Macro museum we heard that the travelling expo New York Minute was in town. The opening was just a couple of days earlier in Macro Future, a new space of the museum on the other side of town. Curated by Deitch Projects’ Director, Kathy Grayson, it features a selection of sixty artists from the New York scene.

We went there on sunday evening to have a look at the works of Dan Colen, Neckface, DearRainDrop, Paper Rad, Barry McGee, Chris Johanson, Dash Snow, Ryan McGinley, Taylor McKimens, Scott Campbell, Steve Powers, Tauba Auerbach, and Terence Koh amongst others. The space itself, an old slaughterhouse now filled with all the artworks worked really well. Have a look at the pictures…

Aaron Bondaroff’s shop selling all the fanzines, records, stickers, t-shirts and books produced by the participating artists:

Minitour 2

10 October 2009, 10.25 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Just back from my holidays, more about that later. The weekend before me and Hilde left to Italy we had the final stops of our Minitour. Some nice evenings and P to the ARTY so here some impressions of the good times.

At thursday we started in Rotterdam at Daily Rush :

Fridays we did a little block party in Haarlem at Revert :

And on saturdays we closed the tour in style with Ben-G when we released our Ying Yang pack and partied at Meneer de Wit (Pop Up Cafe) hosted by Streetlab :

This is funny: these guys are mimicking the YingYang logo themselves:

After this night it was time to go on holiday! Thanks to everybody who visited the tours, thanks to the stores, the dj’s, Eline, Streetlab, Vedett, Southern Comfort, and everybody else I forgot.
