Crywolf

13 February 2009, 14.12 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Met up with my good friend Abiri who runs the upcoming store Crywolf in the Eastvillage in NYC. The store hasn’t even been open for a year now, but already made some great impact not only in the neighbourhood but also internationally through different press releases and their online store.

Abiri sells brands like Public School, Wood Wood, Chronicles of Never, Soulland, Shades of Greige, Corpus and many more. Definitely a must when you’re in town!

Just love the nice little details of the store:

Oh… and Abiri and his girl Nina just became fresh-baked parents of this little beauty. Congratulations, my friends:

New York, New York

12 February 2009, 02.50 | Posted in Uncategorized | 3 comments »

I’m in the city since three days now and I would lie if say I managed without shopping. It’s just SO NOT happening. At least in my life. I hate it. I love it. What can I say… I’m just a sucker for fashion.

The city is killing me, to many good shops => bad for my wallet => bad for my bank account => no money for a Valentine’s Day present => trouble in paradise => no sex for at least a month => bad for my health => plus I’m buying too much stuff which I can’t even take back to Germany => gotta pay overweight => again bad for my bank account => plus who needs all that stuff?!

On the other hand it’s a mad sale over here => good for my wallet => most of the brands are WAY cheaper over here than in Europe => good for my wallet => I got the Euro-Dollar currency exchange bonus => good for my wallet => if I get my girl something from NY (on sale) which all her other friends can’t get => peace on the battelfield for at least a month => good for my health.

So go figure.

A classic. Plain white Hanes T-shirts and them good ol’ briefs. I think that’s the first thing we Europeans buy when we hit the US:

Opening Ceremony has it going on: Japan vs USA. Their selection of brands beats Colette big time! They offer selected pieces from Head Porter and Beauty&Youth by United Arrows over N. Hollywood and Band of Outsiders to their own Opening Ceremony line… = heaven.

Don’t know how often I’m gonna wear those, but hey… just couldn’t resist that deal. Summertime, khaki shorts… done.

Beauty&Youth button-up:

And of course… Supreme. They’re renovating right now, entrance is at the back of the building… big sale as well:

And… is this the guarantee to stay out of trouble??:

I don’t know… you tell me. Let’s see…

“Sad Sack Sally”

10 February 2009, 05.54 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

Well, I’m in New York since yesterday visiting some friends and checking out some stuff. After sleeping off my jet-lag, my good friend and more-than-promising actress Melanie Maras invited me to the premier of her first co-produced movie “Sad Sack Sally” in which she also played one of the main characters.

The premier was held at Tribeca Cinemas and the crowd really enjoyed this entertaining comedy which is about a nerdy-retard-loser-girl trying to find her luck in the Big Apple, escaping her parents, finding her love and in general managing her life which is more “an uncomfortable life story”. Loved Melanie’s character as evil/annoying/desperate Leslie! Definitely fits her.  ;-) Proud of you, guhrl!

Check out the trailer here.

Reebok ERS 2000 Solebox Release

06 February 2009, 13.54 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

The Solebox brothers stroke back again. This time with the Reebok ERS 2000 in a nice grey colourway and a subtle orange twist. It was also all about orange last night at the release party: orange champagne, orange flannel shirts, plus I picked out 4 orange M&M’s out of my package. (Coincidence…? I don’t think so.)

Special feature: An orange smelling insole!

It was a fun night at the Solebox boutique and the after party went on in the Pan Am Lounge, where lovely “stewardesses” awaited us and were serving drinks&nuts.

Hikmet and my MTV girl Hadnet:

Thanks to Hikmet&Suekret&Katja I was one of the lucky ones to grab a pair in advance and smell the shit out of it:

Official release is this saturday at Solebox! Smell ya later…

Surprise, surprise!

My homie Sebastian from Zurich made my day and surprised with these Neighbourhood Consortium beauties! Wanted to have them right from the start back in ‘06. Sebastian still working for adidas back then kept a spare pair and made me a happy man!

I’ll keep you posted on Sebastian, because he’s about to open the freshest sneaker boutiques in Zurich, Switzerland and in Bilbao, Spain.

Plus my 4 Vitra chairs finally arrived! Yay. Big ups to my Turkish brother Nevzat!
