The ADC (Art Directors Club) took place last weekend in Berlin. It’s the biggest and broadest German award ceremony in the field of communications. The best commercials and advertisements in print, tv, online media etc. were awarded and honored. Big players like 180, TBWA, Saatchi&Saatchi, Jung von Matt, DBB, Scholz & Friends etc. as well as smaller agencies and creatives were featured.

Last year Karl Lagerfeld was one of the main speakers, this year Mario Testino and many more…

I spent pretty much my whole Sunday at the exhibition! Very interesting approaches, subjects and ideas. Here just a few of my favourites:

Comedy Central - We take things seriously:

And those were found in the restrooms… Ben&Jerry cups filled with “snow” and rolled up bills (I believe we all know what this is supposed to resemble) stating: “Why use snow if you can have real ice cream!”

HAPPY SOCKS US Launch tomorrow! I don’t know why but these freakin socks simply make you smile!

They debuted in January ‘09 at BREAD & BUTTER and since then they put smiles on everybody’s faces! Nice little gifts… and I can assure you, they probably never match your outfit.

Tomorrow, Friday, is the US launch at Opening Ceremony in NYC. If you’re around, make sure to drop by. Definitely worth it!

Asics Surprise Package! HELP! I need to find the other half!

Received this little package yesterday at the office with a little letter just stating something like: “Find the other half that has been sent out to total 10 bloggers in Europe. Contact them, agree a trade and on the 7th of May a courier will come by  and pick up one half…”

Pretty cool project by Asics!

The two half-pieces were inside a construction of gypsum sticks which you had to destroy in order to get to the pieces.

I was in Amsterdam last weekend visiting some friends and mainly family. Always good seeing my lil cousins who actually are taller than me by now and start pushing me around. Lil Bastards.

Met up with Joey & Ashes & Co. Seemed like a lot of Germans were in Amsterdam that weekend: I ran into Nadine from Frontline, lekker ontbijten, schatje! but unfortunately missed the DRMTM guys. Sorry, Kazu! Next time fo sho…

Last week the opening of the Barry McGee x Ed Templeton x Raymond Pettibon exhibition took place at Circle Culture Gallery in Berlin. The show was curated by non other than Aaron Rose, interesting photographs, some new pieces, some already-seen-before pieces and lots of people.

Yesterday was the official release of the AF1 x Uslu Airlines sneaker at the Wood Wood store Berlin. Boarding cards were sent out as invitations, the store was decorated with real flight seats, parachutes, Uslu nailpolish & lipgloss of course, cute “stewardesses” servings water, beer, vodka and nuts and of course the Nike AF1 by Uslu Airlines, which is btw the ONLY lady in the whole AF1 colabo series! Propz to Feride Uslu for that!

It was a lot of fun, especially when some ladies starting complaining about teenage girls looking fresh as hell with the dopest outfits, no weight problems at all etc. which was making them just MAD! Yeah, ladies, next generation is coming! And they’re coming hard! But no problem for these ladies, because they were definitely the top 5 of Berlin! So no worries… age and experience can be sexy as well (sometimes).
