Nicolas Malinowsky – “Death and the afterlife” – Moscow report
Thanks to Lionel Vivier from Sixpack and Kixbox (russian Sixpack distributor), I had the opportunity to present my first solo exhibition in Moscow last week. The exhibition was taking place in the “Faces and Laces” interactive art and music show, located in an amazing building called Pavillon Kosmos.  This gigantic place has been built to celebrate Youri Gagarine’s cosmo-carreer, and a scale 1 replica of his spaceship stand proudly in front of the entry. This building has an other story ; during the early 90’s, the first russian rave party was organised here, so for the people who knows, the Pavilllon Kosmos is definitly charged of history.
I’ve been driven all days and nights by Roman Stephantsov from Kixbox and his friends, and they’ve been very kindfull. They showed me a bit of architecture in Moscow center, made me chat with lots of theirs russian mates, and we went partying in one of the best nightclub I’ve ever been in my life, called “Solyanka”. My saturday night was a blast ! Russians people have a great sense of hospitality, so if you have an oportunity to visit Moscow, make sure to have a stop in the “UK style” store, they will give you some tips for sure. cheers mates !

Jacques Tati “Playtime” x Exhibition in Paris

Today i’ve been to the famous french movies maker Jacques Tati exhibition in Paris (unfortunatly it wasn’t allowed to take pictures.). He has been one of the 60’s french movie “visionnaire”. My favorite film is “Playtime” considered as his “chef d’oeuvre”…It’s a kind of vision or an observation of the human being and the human life into the crazy modern world.

Renaissance Man.

Im not a lot into the new techno scene, more focus on my own old Lp of Detroit techno : Dopplereffekt, Drexciya etc…or new Insitubes released. To be honest i haven’t been impressed for a while by any Dj’s or Techno productions, hummm maybe a little bit by Style of Eyes Lp but Renaissance Man came and saved my life. these guys are doin really good mixes and productions, you can download some mixes here…They have been recently  team up with Sound Pellegrino ( Institubes sub-Label)..I’m sure we will hear about them. thx you guys and keep up the good work.

Short bio below:

Being born white, male and scandinavian prepares you for a bleak future. However two Helsinki DJ’s Downtown and Jaxxon made it through the jungle; although without house music these guys would already be dead or in lower management. Hailing from the new breed of Helsinki club survivors they bless the world with a mixture of all things kick drum and a bassline fused into their concept of contemporary dance music. Seb Jarnot is a french illustrator…

I discovered the Seb Jarnot illustrations around years 2003/2004 , it has been kind of “shock”, specially when i saw his international Nike ads campaign. Some of his illustrations are very weird and abstract but each drawings tell a story….He’s one of my favorite illustrators, we already printed some of his works in the past hopefully some news things should come very soon.

Sixpack France is happy and proud to present you ”Death and the afterlife “, an exhibition of ill-Studio founder Nicolas Malinowsky. For his first personnal show, the artist looks at the contemporary terms of heritage and transmission of objects through the years.  The show will be celebrated in collaboration with our Russian distributor Kixbox for the Faces and Laces tradeshow in Moscow .
