A conversation between Cody Hudson and Sixpack France
We had a recent conversation with our friend and artist Cody Hudson.
Cody is working with us since we started the brand.
Remember the “Very Modern Kunst“, “Geodesic domestic” collections and the very recent one “DEAD HOMMES“.
In this interview, we wanted to know more about his feelings and inspirations around the “It Was On Earth That I Knew Joy” adventure.
The poster will be available very soon on our website.
Enjoy !
Who are you?
Cody Hudson, Struggle inc., Chicago, USA
Why do you think you have been invited to be a part of the art show?
I feel that Lionel from Sixpack and i are have some sort of cross continental spiritual connection.
What is the link between the movie « It was on earth that i knew joy » and your poster?
For my poster i wanted to visualize the end of world and what would be left at that time of graphic design. basically 0’s and 1’s, black or white, strictly basic bitmap forms. so the huge square was all that was left for me as a graphic choice for the piece. also at the same time i had been working on a series of more minimal found object sculptures and installations. these were part of what i was calling the “selected ambient works” series, which were named in tribute to some records released by Aphex Twin in 82-94.
What is your relationship to Time?
i never seem to find enough of it.
What are your top three favorite movies?
Mr. Freedom
Reservoir Dogs
Children of Men
“It was on earth that I knew joy” talks about apocalypse but also about our fears. What are you most afraid of in life and why?
Im afraid of running out of ideas.
What did you learn today?
How to make 1 hour sous-vide egg.
