Olha isso: Eu na Conexao Converse!

07 November 2009, 05.55 | Posted in Brasil, collabs, fashion, footwear, interviews, videos | No comments »

Together with my grande parceiro, Lucas Penido from TheHypeBR, I took part in an interview with Converse Brasil about the legendary John Varvatos. The clip, or episodio as it’s called, is currently running front and center on the Converse Brasil site. The funny shit is, I did the interview via Skype and I guess the video got fucked up so they just took a bunch of stills from the column, good thing I didn’t have anything too buck wild up there, damn. I gotta shout out the dude who put it together, Daniel Bacchieri, as well as re-insert my plea to Varvatos himself that got edited out of the final version: John, bring CBGB’s back. New York needs it. Your store will be cool no matter where you put it. Valeu! Peep the vid on the Converse site right here.

It was all that and then some.

So the Vice party pretty much lived up to the hype. Bad Brains even had to keep switching over to reggae joints to try to chill the crowd out because heads were going so nuts. As for the $250,000, I’m not sure. I heard there was a keg full of cash in the VIP back room and Vice bigwigs were doing kegstands and puking out hundreds and shit. I didn’t get a pic of that tho, we were too stunned by this golden ass - Good Lord! Images and video by The Mexican. More after the jump.

There has been a lot of speculation on how Vice is spending $250,000 on their Halloween party tomorrow. Well thanks to my homie Mike Cohen and his homie Remy Cherin, I have the exclusive sneak peak inside the venue. A note to all the Viceland alkies out there - there are only 300 cases of beer and 25 cases of tequila, so some pre-game and a flask are advised. Check out what will soon be a palace of depravity after the jump.

LFA son!

29 October 2009, 19.14 | Posted in Whips | No comments »

I’m loving all this car stuff right now. This is some next level. My peoples at Lexus just hit me up with the announcement that they are going into production on a supercar with the ability to take out Ferrari and Lamborghini in one swoop. LFA should stand for Lexus For that Ass! Debuting at the Tokyo Auto Show last week, the LFA has a 4.8-liter V10 engine with a mind blowing 552 hp that you can rev up to 9,000 rpms and get up to 202 mph. The LFA goes into production in December with only 20 being custom-built per month and only 500 being built total. If you want to be the bo$$ next summer, you better get your order in right here. The price? $375,000. Sorry I got nothing on a discount for this one. More looks at this beast after the jump.

Deka x Cormega | Journey

This one is straight from the heart. My big big homie Deka aka Dekatron Don aka BLK OPS General Salute! has just finished Cormega’s new video “Journey.” If you don’t know a) go read some other column, and b) Mega is the truth behind much of Nas’ early career. Do yourself a favor and get a hold of “The Realness,” or better yet, the original version of “Testament” and do the math on this much maligned, always under-appreciated, true QB MC. Respect.

Hinterland Holla

I already ran this on Facebook, but felt it was worthy of the repost. This is me loving Germany. Why? Because the dude at the subway platform bodega will sell you an icy cold pilsner.

Crack it for you.

And you can head off into the night drinking on the subway like it’s one big bar car. Nobody even looks at you funny. So yeah, they may not be the friendliest, and they definitely got the whole world war concept pretty fucked up, but when it comes down to good ol fashioned quality of life, the Germans have it on lock! Prost!

Had a blast with the Burton crew last week, as you can peep in my hard hitting ESPN report, but sadly one photo didn’t make the final gallery edit. Nah sons, 13th Witness too raw for Disney! But here we could let you fly kid!

Frank151 x CMJ

With so much poppin off for CMJ, even the most discerning music snob can get a case of the “fuck thats” and choose to skip the Marathon all together. I mean, there are just too many shows and to be honest too many bands that suck. But there is also some really dope shit going on this week too. Case in point, the homie showcase tomorrow night at Southpaw. Frank151’s got equal parts classics and new skool with everyone from Grand Puba to Trouble Andrew. A special heads up to HighSnob readers: Redman and Spank Rock are gonna be there too. Oh and did I mention $1 Colt 45? Hells yeah Billy D! Hit up events@frank151.com to RSVP and say Timbo Baggins sent ya and you are all good for VIP aight? Full info after the jump.

My good friend and one of the most talented dudes I know, Pat Conlon, is having a group art show this month and he’s kicking it off tomorrow night. Pat, along with Jeramy Fletcher, Ted Riederer, Sylvia Ortiz, Jeffrey Beebe, and Daniel York Krupin will be showing his works at the Mindy Wyatt Gallery to the tune of some wine, women, and song. There will also be a screening of a film called, This Is Berlin, Not New York, which I know nothing about but am curious about anyway, having just returned from that fine city. Everything pops off at 6pm. Full info after the jump.
