The streets of NY are ablaze with talk about Diesel’s end-all be-all XXX party going down this Saturday. With parties poppin off simultaneously in 17 global cities including New York, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Dubai, Beijing, Athens, Helsinki, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Milan, Munich, Paris, Oslo, Stockholm, Zurich, London, and Sao Paulo it looks like this shit is gonna be bigger than LiveEarth! It really doesn’t matter how over saturated they become. I love New Era’s. I was listening to my homie J Period’s Dark Dayz mixtape the other day and he has a verse from “Stan” on there where Em says something about a Starter hat and it made me realize that, Staple’s current resurrection program for them notwithstanding, New Era completely knocked Starter out the frame on hats only ten years ago. Those powermoves are crazy. Anyway, I got a chance to kick it with my friend Merryl at Kidrobot and peep some of the new stuff for Holiday and Spring/Summer 09. What can I say, I liked the New Era’s, especially the heather grey sweatpant one I tried to abscond with. You know my address Mer!

Had a chance to get out of the city this past weekend and up to the lovely stomping grounds of Stowe, Vermont. We packed an Expedition 6 deep with Kori, Kelly, Tracy, Rodney, Michael, and myself set for an adventure that would include surviving an encounter with some teenage Parkour thugs in CT, an hour and a half long wander through the Shangri-La of liquor stores, Three Seas, a pullover from the world’s friendliest cop in Massachusetts, and the cumulative gastric trauma of adding cheese to every meal. We also went to a little party at our friend Jake’s house.

Dancehall/Electro futurist 77Klash and Complex linked up to premier the video for Klash’s latest anthem “Mad Again” featuring Johnny Osbourne at the Red Bull space last night. It was definitely the best crowd they’ve had for an event there yet with a heavy mix of both yard and downtown kids gettin saucy on free Guinness and JC Cognac. Demonstrating why he is the forefront of dancehall progession, 77Klash ripped the spot with the stage presence of a rasta Tasmanian Devil while dance crews like the Ground Zero Dancers, Donna Ray and Dancer’s Boulevard and Skerrit Bwoy mashed out with hood choreography that you would never see at a party in Manhattan. Shit was bananas. 77Klash was joined by Jahdan of Noble Society for “Brooklyn Anthem” as well as DJ Gravy and Max Glazer.

Last night Danny Kass, The Dingo and the Grenade crew whipped through town as part of their Boned Age Tour to screen their new flick The Boned Age. The movie, a shred homage to 1994’s The Stoned Age was a perfect blend of big mountain and urban rail riding with enough party and bullshit to fill in all the gaps. Standout parts included Kyle Clancy going huge and Lucas Magoon going fuckin nuts. Magoon was in the House last night and almost karate-chopped the bar in half due to some perceived lack of attention from the barstaff. Good times, good times.
