2008 Stoked Awards

Last night the second annual Stoked Awards went down. Held at the Red Bull Space, which continues to outdo itself in terms of being able to reinvent for each event, the awards were a fundraiser for the super dope Stoked Mentoring organization. Co-founded in 2005 by Steve Larosiliere and Sal Masekela, Stoked Mentoring is a unique non-profit organization based in New York and Los Angeles that that exposes “at risk” youth and their mentors to surfing, skating and snowboarding and the action sports lifestyle. The heavy hitters in the NY action sports community came out strong to give Tony Hawk the award for overall achievement for all of his work with the Tony Hawk Foundation as well as to Mentoring Pair and Volunteers of the year.
