Craig Wetherby x Analog

31 December 2008, 02.07 | Posted in Brooklyn, Photography, clothing, hats, homies, skateboarding, snowboarding |

My homey and the hardest working man that I’ve never seen workin’, Craig Wetherby, has just pulled off another collabo! This time it’s with Analog as part of their PLA series. I’m particularly excited for this project because I was there on the Cyclone when Uncle Craig took the pic. I think I even looked up from the coaster, noticed the perfect color and lighting and told Craig to pull out the camera. But hey, its cool that he gets all the credit, I got a nice box of tees and hoodies! Hey Shelby where are the hats?? I’m kidding! Kinda. Anyway, I sat with Craig over Sicilian food at Ferdinando’s the other day to get the story of how this dope collab came to be.

So homey, how did this get hooked up?
I’ve been close with Analog since the brand started. I’ve worked with them on everything from events to ads and have been a fan of almost everything they’ve done. A little while back Kelly Williams from Analog reached out to tell me about the PLA series and to see if I wanted to participate. I was down instantly.

What is the PLA?
It’s the Permanent Light Archive. It’s a program where Analog does limited edition releases with the artwork of friends and fam of the brand. Its a dope concept.

How did you settle on the Cyclone image?
I wanted to do something that said NY and Brooklyn in particular. I have tons of shots from all over the borough but for me personally, nothing is more Brooklyn than the Cyclone. I’ve been riding it since I was a kid and now with the potential development happening at Coney Island, you really have no idea how much longer it will be around. The day I took that photo, you remember, was one of the dopest days ever out there, I think we all rode the Cyclone like 6 times in a row.

Yeah that’s right! It’s only 4 bucks for each additional ride..
Yep and they were bugging on me for pulling out the camera, they could see me on the automated photos they take and try to sell back to you. I just kept being like “it’s all good yo, I’m just adjusting the strap!” They weren’t trying to have it but I got some sick shots.

Word. The collection is a black and a white tee, a black hoodie and two trucker hats right, black and red, white and blue?
Yeah. I’m really happy with the way everything came out. The truckers wouldn’t have been my first choice but when I saw the mockups I was convinced. The red, white and blue one is all summer man.

Shits are off the chain. Good shit homey!
Thanks yo!

The Craig Wetherby x Analog PLA series is available at the SoHo Burton Flagship store and select Analog retailers nationwide. Peep some more pics after the jump.

I love boxes.

Especially when they are full of stuff.

Well said.

  1. I love smuggling my camera onto the Cyclone. I\’ve gotten some amazing shots of the ocean and Astroland from up at the top, right before you\’re plummeted down into sheer terror. Built in 1926, the Cyclone still scares the shit out of even the most hardened rollercoaster riders. It\’s me fave!
