Mrs. B up in the Times!

I’m really proud of this. While I’m skating around and bullshitting trying to have as much fun as possible my mom is actually out making a difference. Yesterday she was quoted in the New York Times as part of an article about incentives being given to grocers to bring healthier food, especially fruits and vegetables, to low income supermarkets. She’s in there because she helped work to make the program a reality. Well done mom! Check out the original here.

Woohoo! My favorite magazine in the world, Antenna, just dropped their spankin new summer issue. As always, its bangin! I’ve got two pieces in this issue, a frank commentary on the perils of Porn 2.0 and a spread on Oslo, Norway’s raddest shop Hunting Lodge. I’ll prolly scan these in in a day or so but for now - go cop a copy! Word to Kaity!

Oh Word - The Financial Express?

Watch out y’all, High Snob is going big in India! I just came across this writeup in The Financial Express, an English language financial newspaper serving India. A whole bunch of us get shoutouts for being “leading names in fashion, design, retail, and beyond.” Word to David! Read the original here.

With sections that are named Highsnobiety, Highsnobette, Selecticism Curated and Rad Collector, www.highsnobiety.com is after after a true snob’s heart.

Established in 2005 by David Fischer as an outlet to broadcast the latest in products and goods. Detailed and extensive, it is a good resource for global fashion trends.

Footwear is a special strength area and the guide helps visitors find stores with the latest collections or information about new store openings.

The site is frequently updated, several times a day. But given the hassle of checking the site out regularly, those who want to follow the site can also opt for a newsletter or subscribe to the RSS feed. The navigation is fairly rudimentary and searching is often the best way to reach what you are looking for if it is not on the home page.

There are also ‘The Columns’ that have personal blogs by some leading names in fashion, design, retail, and beyond —BKRW, Village Slum, Tim Brodhagen, Azita, Nick Walker and others. The site also has interviews and commentary.
