My dudes at The ICU have a crazy find on their hands with Iffy, a half Italian, half Vietnamese cat from 119th Street with a psycho Beastie flow. With a little more crafting, this dude has big time written all over him. Bready good looks on the tip!

Every time I think Em is done for (ie this fucking Not Afraid song) he comes back with some murder. I was starting to think Nicki Minaj was real dope until I heard this. She has charisma, but she ain’t anywhere near Eminem level. The dude says “Go take a flying leap of faith off a fucking balcony before I shove a falcon wing up your fly ass. You know what time it is so why ask?” Exactly!

CMJ has been ripping through town for the last week, fucking up the traffic and clogging the restaurants but also bringing with it some bright spots of new music. While it isn’t the incubation chamber for major label talent it once was, shit , labels aren’t what they once were either, CMJ still had some dope showcases. Blow was at the Skotch Davis, Carter, and Rugz D. Bewler show at Public Assembly in Brooklyn and dropped this edit today. I’ve always felt that my homie Seth Zaplin aka Young Dawgie would be the perfect casting for a live action version of Where’s Waldo? His appearance in this new Jasmine Solano video by Vashtie confirms my hunch. Who can spot him first?!

Mike Malbon has been pushing the creative envelope of the Chop Shop since it’s inception. Continuing with his documentary shorts surrounding the life and times of the LES barber shop he drops a new series this week with “Short Story.” Look for cameos from many of Essex Street’s familiar faces and stay tuned for new episodes dropping regularly. I’m loving this new Danny Kass commercial for the DK Zoom that launched as part of the new Nike Snowboarding site. Shredding and zombies are always a nice combo!
