My man Louie Vito is really puttin it down this year. Not only did he take his first podium at Winter X but he threw the weekend’s gnarliest jumpoff with Yelawolf and Z-Trip at The Belly Up in Aspen. In this photo by Craig Wetherby, Mason Aguirre, Trevor Andrew, Stephen Malbon and I are giving Yelawolf and his DJ Artime their first look at some pure Colorado bluebird while Louie was perfecting his run in the halfpipe. Wow, I almost can’t believe it. Despite him being one of my oldest homies in the game as well as one of my stellar cadre of Radcollector columnists, I can count the number of times I have actually seen Jason Bergh in the last 5 years on one hand. And even though I knew he was going to be in Vegas this weekend for the Street League finals, I definitely didn’t think I would actually see him. Yet, here he is in the flesh lounging courseside at the Thomas and Mack Arena like it ain’t no thang. If you didn’t know, Jason co-produced Street Dreams with Rob Dyrdek and Bra Boys with the Abbertons and has a ton of shit up his sleeve for next year. Yeah kid, finally!

All the homies came together on Friday night for a real deal rooftop BBQ at the etnies Space for mine and Hawaii Mike’s Bday’s. Corona and Tanteo provided the drinks and Mike swooped up about 200 burgers to make sure everyone had enough in the belly to handle the drinks x blazing sunray combo. As a vegetarian, I tried to make do on asparagus and orzo salad alone which sadly was not quite enough so a special thanks needs to go to Frances Ortiz for saving my night with veggie burgers. And of course thanks to Kashia Wolf for the ridiculously delicious chocolate mousse cake – that was a total surprise! I was in China all last week for the opening of the insane new Woodward Camp in Beijing. As you can see, I was pretty much the man over there – these girls followed me everywhere and fanned out into a cheer pose every time I stopped for a photo. Unfortunately they couldn’t all get visas or I would have taken them back to NY for sure. It wasn’t all fun and games though, I put in some work which can be seen on Radcollector and in this video I did for ESPN. From Tiananmen Square to the Forbidden City to the Great Wall, every time we all realized we were in China because of skateboarding we couldn’t help but bug out. It was pretty unbelievable.

I just had the opportunity to travel back to the hinterland and have a gang of good stories to share but it seemed appropriate to start with a quick shot of my very first visit to the HighSnob Headquarters in Mitte, Berlin.
