As Hannibal used to say, “I love it when a plan comes together.” After I hosted the Just Do It

I was up at Stratton for the US Open last weekend despite my rather precarious ambulatory predicament and consequently not in the mood for any bullshit when all of a sudden some guy came out of the bar with some crutchy-crutch smart talk. Let me tell you, he wasn’t talking at all after this cast smash to the mouth! I moved so quick I can’t believe Craig got the snap!

This is next!

I usually don’t get all corny on Thanksgiving each year and spout all sorts of reflective shit about thankful this and thankful that, I usually just drink too much red wine and alienate friends and loved ones. But this year my Thanksgiving was super mellow and in the absence of copious amounts of wine I actually did get to being thankful about some shit. Then today I woke up (early I might add) and got the news that the story I did for ESPN Skateboarding about the Tony Hawk Show in Paris had achieved page one status on ESPN.com. That’s the world leader in sports yo! Needless to say I was buggin. A story on skateboarding hammering it out on the ESPN home page in the heat of college football season and on the same day Tiger Woods gets into an accident! If I didn’t already know it, today would have sealed the deal, we are here to stay! But the real point here is about thankful-ness, so this year I want to make it completely clear that I am a super thankful motherfucker. Most of all I am thankful for opportunity. If you take it, opportunity is the gateway to everything in life. Aside from opportunity, and completely in tandem with it as well, I am thankful for my friends and family. Every opportunity I’ve ever had has come through the amazing bunch of people I’ve come to know and love in this short life. Thank you. But enough blubbering. For this project in particular I want to thank Catlin and Shana for making it happen and to Tracy and Adam for pushing it through. And I thank skateboarding and snowboarding for changing my life. And you can head off into the night drinking on the subway like it’s one big bar car. Nobody even looks at you funny. So yeah, they may not be the friendliest, and they definitely got the whole world war concept pretty fucked up, but when it comes down to good ol fashioned quality of life, the Germans have it on lock! Prost!

I really could never not live in NY. I don’t know how other people do it. There’s no where else in the world you could have a night like this without planning it. Started out with Java gettin the streets wet in the Antenna Soul. Kicked it at Shut for a while before hitting up the Lupe show at Governor’s Island. We even saw Q-Tip peepin it tough outside the Apple store on 14th. Then we rolled down to Lit to link up with the Trouble Gang and the rest is history as usual. Watch it unfold after the jump.

Man, the most humbling experiences are always the most rewarding. I got the chance to chop it up with an elder statesman of streetwear yesterday by the name of Mister Cartoon for the upcoming Frank151 x G-Shock book. A true OG, Cartoon has a perspective on this whole lifestyle we live and love that needs to be heard in person to be fully appreciated. He was living it before most of us were born. What else is he doing in town? Yesterday he was doing a live installation at a phone store on 6th Ave to promote his new phone collab with PCS Mobile and today he’s headlining the G-Shock event with Kanye. That’s what you call a natural born hustler. Much respect.

Shit, I guess it’s that time of year again. Mais um ano para o Caranguejo do Norte! Lucky for me I have some of the freshest friends in the world so it’s all good. A couple of them have hooked up a little bday jumpoff for me at Gallery Bar. Music by? Who else but Jayceeoh with his partner PQ. Due to the MJ tragedy, there’s gonna be some Michael up in the mix, and these super sick tees by Teisbe, but its not gonna be over the top with it so come ready for hip hop, electro-craze, and all the musica brasileira I request!
