The long-awaited solo Black Panther film doesn’t hit theaters until February 16, but critic reviews are already rolling in after last night's premiere.

After a strong debut in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, T'Challa, the Wakanda king by day and badass superhero the rest of the time, gets his solo movie debut. Early impressions show that critics are loving Black Panther, with many calling it one of the best Marvel films to date. The film seems to live up to its "cultural phenomenon" praise as a visual masterpiece, with an emotional story arc, women empowerment, social and political issues, and Oscar-worthy performances especially from Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmanger.

The film has already made a fan out of Fear of God's Jerry Lorenzo calling it "#movieoftheyear."
