HOKA

HOKA’s Tor Summit sneaker, the brand’s Alpine-inspired silhouette that riffs on a classic hiking boot, has had a pretty stellar last 12 months by all accounts.

Now, alongside Chicago-based streetwear label Hidden Characters, HOKA is dropping another take on its chunky outdoorsy shoe, one that comes fully-equipped with a luxe nubuck leather upper and its archetypal ultra-grippy rubber mudguard.

Since the shoe's inception back in 2022, the Tor Summit has become one of HOKA's most popular shoes — so popular that it’s perpetually out of stock.

Such is demand for the Tor Summit, HOKA then released a follow-up evolution of it in early 2023 with the aptly-titled Tor Summit 2, a slightly chunkier-but-sleeker variation.

Now, the Tor Summit is big and it’s seriously robust. So the fact that the shoe keeps selling out as fast as HOKA is restocking it is a testament to both the shoe’s practicality and its overall aesthetic.

For this collaboration, Hidden Characters has reinterpreted the HOKA Tor Summit in an artful yet moody way — including stark black and white uppers and an ice blue outsole below.

The result? A shoe that takes the HOKA Tor family’s hiking heritage and switches it up for the city streets with performance-meets-style design elements like zig-zag stitching and sturdy metal eyelet hardware.

The Tor Summit Hidden Characters, available online at HOKA now for $220, is the latest in a long list of objectively great-looking sneakers to have come off of HOKA's conveyor-belt of late including silhouettes like the Mafate Three 2, the Ora Primo Mule, and the Kaha Low.

Anyways, when it comes to the Tor Summit and anything to do with it, HOKA simply cannot be beaten.
