For over a year now Playboi Carti's second studio album Whole Lotta Red has been clouded in speculation and plagued with leaks, never getting a definitive release date. However, on Tuesday, Carti hinted the wait might finally be over, posting a photo on Instagram with the caption "red incoming."

Maybe we shouldn't get our hopes up too soon. This isn't the first time Carti has implied and missed a release date. In July the rapper announced at a show that he'd be dropping the album “in the next 60 days.” He didn't.

It's no surprise the project has taken this long to release, since its announcement the project has been plagued by over 20 leaks, including most recently "Butterfly Doors," "Buffy the Body" and “Red on Red.”
