Money talks, and for Ski Aggu, money talks in a distinct Berlin accent. The German rapper was raised on the mean streets of Wilmersdorf, where he found fame and fortune despite it all.

Revolut, renowned for its user-friendly digital banking services, joins forces with Ski Aggu to launch the Money Talks series, a platform aimed at discussing financial matters with some of today’s hottest rising talents. With its simplified approach to finance, Revolut has become a household name, offering seamless solutions for tasks like international money transfers and budget management.

Sporting a distinctive look comprising a mullet, his signature ski goggles, and a tracksuit, Ski Aggu sets himself apart not only in appearance but also in his musical style. August Jean Diederich, known by his stage name Ski Aggu, emerged onto the music scene in 2022 with his single "Party Sahne," an instant viral hit that ushered in the release of his debut album, "2022 war film gewesen," later that year. The album, which touches on topics of heartache, love, and partying, captures the essence of his life, his city, and his worldview.

"I never had it easy," he remarks with just the slightest touch of sarcasm, reflecting on his upbringing in leafy West Berlin. Yet, emphasizing his ability to persevere, "I still managed somehow." He speaks transparently with a straight-faced irony that echoes the playful, unbothered nature of his much-loved TikToks, which propelled him from up-and-comer to celebrity in Germany in a matter of years.

Ski Aggu's musical journey started back in 2018 when he began sharing his music on SoundCloud, where he often collaborated with his friend Adrian Julius Tillmann, aka Ritter Lean. As his career has developed in recent years, it’s become apparent that Ski Aggu represents a shift in Deutschrap. His music—playful, cheeky, and undeniably catchy—transcends conventional German rap by infusing it with electronic influences while remaining infused with the rapper’s trademark humor. His music showcases his versatility as an artist, and innate ability to blend multiple styles seamlessly.

Revolut, Revolut

Delving into spending habits, Ski Aggu advocates for balance. He acknowledges his weakness for sweets, recognizing the need to cut back for health reasons. Another recent purchase was a grill for a single tooth. “I recently bought a single grill for an incisor and it's really over the top. And I thought it looked really cool, but I look like a complete idiot when I have it in. That was a total bad buy—even if it was done really well by the guy who made it. But I never wear it and never will.”

Like many of us, Ski Aggu knows the value of picking up the bill, no matter how big or small, for the people we love. When out for drinks with friends, he’s been known to pay for everyone around him. While his altruism is obvious, there’s an added bonus to his generosity; avoiding the pedantic dance of requesting €2.30 from each one of his friends.

And while money requests are made straightforward by the Revolut app, Ski Aggu still happily foots the bill himself every time he’s out. "Someone always pays—always."

With his infectious tracks and unique style, Ski Aggu has redefined Deutschrap, infusing it with electronic influences and his trademark quick wit and humor. From his lyrics to his style, Tiktoks, and even his finances, Ski Aggu's creative ethos is underpinned by an unwillingness to conform, emphasizing spontaneity, individuality, and generally having a good time.
