Last year Snapchat launched a free desktop app, Lens Studio, allowing everyone to create their own augmented reality figures. Now, the tech company is expounding upon the service by announcing Lens Explorer, a new way to discover Lenses designed by the Snapchat community.

Snapchat points out that since the inception of Lens Studio last December, more than 100,000 Lenses have been submitted, surpassing 2.5 billion views. With Lens Explorer, you'll be able to discover these Lenses in the main Lens Carousel, providing users with even more Lenses to play with. The feature will also further showcase the work of the Snapchat community.

When the Lens Carousel is active, all you have to do is tap the new smiley face icon, then select the desired Lens tile to unlock a Lens, and it will be taken to your Snap Camera. You can also browse through featured stories and unlock a Lens by swiping up on Snaps.

Snapchat is rolling out Lens Explorer slowly, initially to iOS users only.
