Editor’s Notes: German sneaker staple Solebox has officially unveiled its latest project with adidas. After working with the Brand With the Three Stripes on the Yung-1 back in late 2018, Solebox is now putting its own spin on the Torsion TRDC that was relaunched last year.

The adidas Torsion TRDC was originally released in the ’90s and created for trail running. The model was one of the lesser-known, Torsion-equipped adidas models and featured an aggressive outsole pattern with superior tread and mixed-material uppers for comfort and stability.

Solebox’s version — unveiled by Solebox GM Aljoscha Kondratiew on Instagram and via the exclusive gallery above — features a summery color scheme. Kondratiew tells Highsnobiety: “When I first saw the TRDC silhouette at the adidas HQ in Herzogenaurach, it was immediately one of my personal favorites. It’s a timeless and progressive adidas design that the Solebox team was excited to work on.”

As for the color story, Kondratiew reveals, “I am a seafood lover, and scallops are something that I immediately connect with summer, so I wanted to create something bright but wearable at the same time.”
