This post is dedicated to Arnold Pants, who recognizes ChicksWithKicks for the shining jewel of HighSnobiety that it is! We love you, too, Arnold!
Do you ever shop Etsy? It's this site that sells mostly clothes, but some other stuff, too, all by independent designers making shit in some corner of their homes. A while ago I posted up some shoes I found on Etsy. Remember them? Those really cool, hand-painted, vintage pumps? The one drawback of the site is that you have to wade through a LOT of craptastic hippie-a-la-new-millennium JUNK, but there are some cute things buried amongst the junk. (One way to spend less time sorting through the pile is to do a search for "Most Viewed.")
As always, because I love you all so much, I pulled some things from the site that I thougt were extra cute:
^^This is a dress by a user called BrookThere. I love the simple cut and the snap detail along the slit, but I definitely have some ish with the striped fabric, which is a little too prison-y for me and thus brings to mind too many of my exes. And praise Jesus that that part of my life is over! I hope!!
^^Adorable sailor pants by SRBDesigns.
^^A sexy, slinky dress also by SRBDesigns. There were other items that were actually cuter, but we couldn't help but be mesmorized by the model's amazing eye lashes--wow!
^^Etrelles' adorable, sequined sandals. I love that they're slides not thongs. I'm sick of thongs or flip-flops or whatever you want to call THAT profile. Also, Etrelles has other neat leather products like cuffs and small bags and such.
So what are you doing for the holidays? Got anything fun planned for New Year's? I'm gonna be in Florida--yippee!!!!!!!! Warm weather and ocean here I come!

This it sort of came as a surprise when I went to the little shinding ID mag hosted with DDC lab to celebrate the NB inside Collection..
the kicks are sleek and womens (Hooray) I think I have to get used to seing the NB logo on such a sleek shoe...
the colorway were interesting and from what I was told one of the main feature of this sneaker is what happens on the the insole made of cork...
"Some models will incorporate Inox, a metal mesh with anti-radiation and anti-arthritic properties. Others will be infused at the fiber level with liquids released upon agitation over the life of the shoe, soothing overworked feet with aloe vera, trapping bacteria and odors while moisturizing with tiny dollops of lotion, and releasing a subtle scent meant to evoke a day spa. "(ID mag)
What do you think of the new look?

Here's the thing...I am not here to tell you who to vote for..but I am telling you to VOTE..not because it's the cool hip thing to do nowadays but because our generation is probably one of the most passive ones so far... For some reason it's not cool to stand for what you believe in..being passionate and devoted is seen as weird..,fanatic...but then we'll have deep discussions about the latest XYNZ colorways or we'll be ready to bash the next dude or dudette whose actually making something of himself....The peeps at Enstrumental had something to say:
“We’ve created this t-shirt not only to support Obama and his campaign, but also with the hopes of sparking a change in the way the younger generation views and participates in politics”, states co-founder, Dwamina K. Drew, “Fashion is important to the consumer and we are leveraging style to promote political advocacy.” Enstrumental is also supporting the Obama campaign directly, by donating 8% of t-shirt sales to the campaign. "
At least they stand for something and are not afraid to say it out loud..What do you stand for???

Kiser just launched these new sweaters just in time for the holidays...
Kiser as you know is one of our fave graphic brands and with this installement he's venturing outside of t-shirts which we really appreciate ..the sweaters are unisex so you and your boo can actually rock the same one....
what in the world are we talking bout ..kicks,make-up or sex.. in the world of women it all gets tied up into one conversation we talk about everything as it comes up...right ?ok so when I looked up the official definition of Orgasm one of them that was not too technical was ..".A general euphoric(happy) sensation.."
Wanna talk about Euphoria..how about a collaboration between a cosmetics company and a sneaker brand? I' m not talking about kiddie/fruit scented lip glosses here ...could I be on to something?
Anyway so yeah I was definitely euphoric when the kind people at Nars chose yours truly to test out some of their newest products: A Multiple called Orgasm/A Lip Gloss called Orgasm/and an Eye make up remover....Nars is definitely not a prude...and at CWK we love that right Lois!!
As modern and minimal as the packaging is which I thought was totally cool... I'm usually skeptical when cosmetics brands try to tell you that a product will suit all skin tones from the darkest to the lightest....you know what I mean....especially if you are on the more olive to ebony side of the Skin tone spectrum...
...But with this multiple(which like the name says works on everything I did eyes, cheeks, lips even added a little oomph to the cleavage!! (How??I'd have to get too technical to show you how to do it sorry) but it gives you that glow. ..not a chunky glitter glow it's more subtle kinda like a euphoric/glow.. ; )
The lip gloss worked too it's was not sticky or overly glittery..
Speaking of cleavage Beyonce did a great job with hers..a little shimmer goes a long way...
can she wear a dress or what !!
Altough I love make up the thing I really despise is taking it off washing my face and still having racoon eyes altough smoky eyes can be a look check out Adama's below...
it's was Euphoric/orgasmic to see that the Nars eye make up remover did its thing with no greasy residue and it did not smell laike acetone!
so folks that was my 2 cents ....

Now that it is officially winter... Yes to my dismay it is here..I have found my train rides to be quite depressing usually they are at least musically stimulating but since I broke my nano I am now surrounded by the morbid silence of the morning rush Hour.Surrounded by dark coats, dark coats and more dark coats.. ...
Most people wear dark coats ,How cool was it to find MANTO (in french Manteau means coat and is pronounced the same way)they specialize in the wool craftmanship from the Arborigens in Northern Argentina( my spanish is not stellar)so far that is what I picked up from the site.
I'm usually wearing all black but this brand started by two mujeres(women) Clara de La Torre & Daina Dai Chee Chaug really made me think of color and mostly craftmanship something that in this culture populated by the newest and latest we tend to overlook how things are really made!!!
Have you ever looked inside a ####hoodie? or a $$$$$ pair of jeans call me a geek a snob..but I like my clothes to look "finished" or "refined" inside and out. There's a reason why women pay thousands of dollars for a Chanel suit from ten -twenty years ago go look at one turn it inside out and tell me what you see..

that short one is my favorite!!!
Enjoy!!

Oh my god, I'm in LOVE. I just heard this song by Kid Sister called "Pro Nails Happy Fun" (which Kanye guests on) and its devoted to her love of her booming mani and pedis. And you know I'd throw up the link to the video but stupid HighSnobiety is a snob about letting people embed videos. (What is up with THAT, David??) In the meantime, check out the wallpaper from her MySpace page:
^^Is that just the most beautiful thing or what??
And check this out, supposedly she's appearing at the Museum of Natural History on January 25.
Smooches!
