Founded in 1981 in California, Guess started as a jeans manufacturer but has since expanded its offerings to include handbags, watches, footwear, perfumes, accessories, and lingerie, all the while maintaining its family business roots.

The style of Guess's advertising campaigns was conceived by Paul Marciano, the youngest of the Marciano brothers, who opted to create the glamorous, old Hollywood-inspired campaigns in-house, reflecting the brand's provocative and youthful spirit. Together with consistent collection, always able to be at the forefront of what consumers wanted over the changing 80s, 90s and early 2000s, the iconic Guess ads forever stayed in the imagery of the brand.

More recently, in 2022, GUESS USA was launched to re-explore the brand's rich archives, reinterpreting classic American styles with a modern twist through collaborations with various artists and creatives, aiming to redefine the American Dream for a new generation with its innovative and vintage-inspired designs. Awarmly erotic, California cool collection paired with Guess' own penchant for peddling all-American, girl-next-door sex appeal.
