STORY mfg.'s helix jacket is inspired by the boxy proportions and pockets of a vintage helicopter mechanic's jacket. The surface pattern is achieved through an artisanal folded and clamped resist method, and then hand-dyed with babul bark and madder root.

Some of these dyes, such as the madder root, have been used as a herbal medicine for centuries.
