Stone Island is all about innovation, especially when it comes to outerwear. The 419G1 jacket is one of the brand’s most groundbreaking designs as it is essentially three pieces in one. A Paclite product, the style consists of three components: a packable anorak and vest, as well as a dual pouch bag with a neck strap. Both the anorak and the pouch bag are produced in Paclite, which Stone Island touts as the lightest, most breathable, and easily packable product that exhibits the Gore-Tex black diamond label. This technologically-advanced fabric is made from ultra-light 50 micro denier polyester yarns on Dobby looms for a fine ripstop weave, bonded to a fine Gore-Tex membrane to make it breathable, durable, waterproof, and totally windproof. Inside, the padded vest is executed in a bio-based ripstop nylon and treated with a solvent-free polyurethane coating and a perfluorocarbon-free anti-drop agent. The vest’s pouch pocket remains fully accessible when wearing the anorak thanks to slanting openings on the chest. Small slit openings on the front of the anorak then host the strap that connects the cape to the pouch bag. Similarly, a horizontal chest slit and vertical Velcro bands secure the external portion of the pouch bag. You can conveniently wear all three pieces simultaneously, as they are designed specifically to coexist. Conversely, they are each fully formed products that can stand alone, too. Bravo, Stone Island.
