Effectively being the godfather of contemporary techwear, you'll struggle to find more technologically advanced clothing than that in a new ACRONYM collection.

With more pockets than anyone could need, highly waterproof technology, and muted (mostly black) color schemes, a full outfit created by the Berlin-based brand often ends up looking like a post-apocalyptic uniform from the future.

But one thing that can get overlooked is the brand's versatility, and amongst all the uber-utilitarian wares are carefully-crafted pieces of casualwear — as is shown in its SS23 collection.

For the first drop of its latest collection, the brand presented J111TS-CH. A relatively simple black jacket with a fold-down collar, the brand itself describes it as: "Ultra-sharp stripped down minimalist tailoring."

While the jacket can be unzipped to expose tactical webbing and inside panels filled with pockets, its techwear credentials are largely disguised by its smart-casual exterior.

And it doesn't end there, drop one also included the P48-CH, a pair of twill pleated trousers with a minimal, wide-leg finish, and the Pro Rider Jacket which has blazer-like lapels on the front.

Granted, this isn't exactly the type of traditional tailoring you'll find on the streets of Savile Row, it's still made in water-tight fabrics and comes with the brand's typical tech (like a removable ForceLock), but it wouldn't look out of place paired together with a suit and some loafers.

This brings us to the latest drop of the brand's SS23 collection, arriving online at the Highsnobiety Shop on April 20th, which includes ACRONYM's J103-GTV.

Offered in all black with a storm flap that covers the front zip and gives it a more minimal finish, the long-length silhouette is the brand's take on the mac coat which you're more likely to find worn in corporate settings or at formal occasions than on the back of a gorpcore enthusiast.

For all of its formal looks, it does have some serious tech though, including TensionZip front pockets, taped seams, and 2.5L Gore-Tex technology — which is fitting as the Mac is widely considered to be the first-ever waterproof raincoat.

So if you're in the market for a formal overcoat or pleated pants, ACRONYM has options with tech never-seen-before at the local tailors.
