Before premiering at the Venice Film Festival later this month, 20th Century Fox shares a new trailer for James Gray's space epic, Ad Astra, starring Brand Pitt. The clip, titled "An Epic Journey," finds both Pitt and Gray providing commentary on the much-anticipated film and its central theme of human connection.

Pitt portrays astronaut Roy McBride in Ad Astra, as he embarks on a mission to space to find his long lost father, played by Tommy Lee Jones. During his journey, McBride uncovers a mystery that could very well threaten the survival of Earth.

Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland also star in the movie, which is directed by James Gray and co-written by Gray and Ethan Gross. Brad Pitt serves as a producer alongside Gray, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Anthony Katagas, Rodrigo Teixeira, and Arnon Milchan.

Ad Astra hits theaters September 20 following an August 29th premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
